POST OF SENIOR AGRICUL-
TURAL ASSISTANT CARRIA-
COU, GRENADA, B.W.I.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the post
of Senior Agricultural Assistant, Cartia-
cou in the Department of Agriculture,
Grenada.
2. The post is in the salary scale of
$2,400 x $120 $3,120, and a temporary
-ost5of-living allowance of $480 per annum
is also payable. In addition a transport
allowance of $912 per annum is payable
providing the officer keeps and maintains
a mother carfor the performance of his
duties.
3. The post is non pensionable and will
be for the duration of C. D. & W. Scheme
D.1859 (Agricultural Development Scheme
for Carriacou), i. e. for a period of
three years in the first instance.
4. Applicants must possess the D.I C
T.A or its equivalent, or a University
degree in Agriculture, plus previous expe-
rience in a Department of Agriculture
5 The point in the salary grade at
which the successful applicant wid he ap-
pointed will depend on qualifications and
experience.
6. The duties of the post will entail
the planning and supervision of all pro-
jects of an agricultural nature it Carria-
cou, the supervision of agricultural
forestry staff. and such other duties as
r.ay be determined from time to time.
7. Free, unfurnished quarters will be
provided.
8. Free passages on appointment will
be provided for the Candidate and his
family plus travelling expenses

CENTRAL AFRICAN FEDERATION
CONFERENCE
THE Conference on central African
Federation met this morning in plenary
session, under the Chairmanship ef Mr.


Lyttelton. Secretary of State for the
Colonies.
The conference resumed consideration
of matters relating to the procedure for
constitutional amendment.
The Conference then revised the Pream-
ble to the Federal Scheme, and discussed
a number of matters of detail.
The Conference agreed that the Consti-
tution should provide that the Govern-
ments of the Federation and the Terri.
stories would no mally consult together on
all matters of mutual interest and
concern.
The Legal, Finance and Public Services
Gommittees met in the afternoon
The Conference will resume in plenary
session on Monday, January 12th.

The Conference resumed in plenary ses-
sion this morning. Lord Swinton was in
the Chair.
The Conference reviewed progress on a
number of matters which are being dealt
with in detail in Commnittees Tney also
discussed external relations, and consi-
dered what arrangements for way-leaves,
or land are necessary for the Federal Gov-
ernment in conncctio with transport,
electricity and posts and telegraphs.
The Legal Committee completed an
interim report on Federal Jurisdiction,
the Federal Judiciary and appeals.
The Legal, Finance and Public Services
Committees, and the working Party on
interim arrangements, met in the after.
noon to consider points remitted t, them
The whole of tomorrow will be devoted
to the work of the Committees, and the
Conference will resume in plenary session
on Wednesday.

tions on the procedure for constitutional
amendment. The conference considered
a report from the Legal Committee deal-
ing with a number of points remitted to it
