BANANA CULTIVATION
HIS Excellency the Governor has ap-
pointed an interim Agricultural Loans
Board with the following membership: -
The Financial Secretary Chairman
The Agricultural Superintendent
Mr. J. B. Charles
Mr. O. A. Flynn
Mr. I. N. Shillingford
Hon. Austin Winston
Mr. Stafford Shillingford will act as
Secretary to the Board.
2. The functions of the Board will be
to administer agricultural loans financed
from public funds with the primary object
of rehabilitating and extending the culti-
vation of bananas. The Board will con-
sider applications for agricultural loans
and are empowered to grant or refuse
such loans at their discretion.

loans will be introduced at a later date.

PROGRAMME FOR QUEEN'S BIRTH.
DAY PARADE AT THE BOTANIC
GARDENS ON THE 5TH JUNE, 1952.

1. 10.00 hours His Honour arrives at
Saluting Base. Union Jack is broken
and General Salute is given. (First
half of National Anthem is played.)
2. His Honour inspects Parade and re-
turns to Saluting Base.
3. Troops March Past" in column and
return to original position.


4. His Honour moves four paces to the
left and turns facing Saluting Base
(Union Jack is lowered).
5 Royal Standard" is broken. Troops
give Royal Salute (whole verse of
National Anthem is played).
6. His Honour faces Parade.
7. Troops fire Feu de Joie".
After 1st volley 1st half-verse
National Anthem played.
After 2nd volley 2nd half-verse
National Anthem played.
After 3rd volley-Whole of 1st verse
is played
8. Troops will fix bayonets and give
Royal Salute ( whole of 1st verse of
National Anthem is played).
9. Troops will "Order Arms" and re-
move head-dress.
10. His Honour calls three cheers for Her
Majesty the Queen (Troops replace
head-dress)
11. Troops will "Slope Arms" and give
Royal Salute as the Royal Standard is
being lowered. (Whole verse of Na-
tional Anthem is played).
12. Union Jack" is raised-His Honour
returns to Saluting Base.
13. Troops will give General Salute and
then Order Arms",
14. His Honour leaves.

PLANT DISTRIBUTION

Applications for Citrus Plants, includ-
ing Limes are invited from planters in
the Roseau area. Forms of application
are obtainable at Head Office of the
Department, and should be forwarded
by the 15th JUNE 1952.
2. Planters who have applied previous-
ly should not re-apply this year, but
should ensure that their previous orders
have been recorded. Orders placed pre-
viously to 1952 will receive priority.
3. Peasants should give their require-
ments to their District Agricultural
Officers.
4. Plants will only be distributed in
areas, which in the opinion of the Super-
intendent of Agriculture, fulfil the follow-
ing condit'ons:-
(a) Suitable natural conditions for the
crop
(b) Adequate Wind Protection
(c) Adequate Soil Conservation Mea-
sures.
