rate of $256 per annum is payable. No

Regulations and local orJers in force
and to taxation at local rates.
4. Cost of passages for appointee and
family (up to a maximum of 5) will be
paid in the first instance and on comple-
tion of contract unless person appointed
relinquishes appointment before expira-
tion of contract in which case return
passages will not be paid.

ORDINANCE NO OF 1951

AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE SPECIAL


COMPUTATION OF THE PENSION WHICH MAY BE
GRANTED TO ELEANOR AUGUSTA BLANCHARD
ON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE PUBLIC SER-
VICE OF THE COLONY.

Be it enacted by the Governor with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Council of Dominica as
follows :-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the
BLANCHARD PENSION ORDINANCE. 1951. Short title
2. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary con- Pensionable
trained in the Pensions Ordinance, 1944, as amended, service to be
the pensionable service of Eleanor Augusta Blanchard Jan, 1t9.
for the purpose of computing the pension which she
may be granted under the Pensions Ordinance, 1944 as Ord. No, 9/
amended, on her retirement from the public service of 1944
the Colony shall be deemed to have commenced on the NN0 10, 146
1st day of January, 1939. 1949
3. Save as otherwise provided by this Ordinance ensionse
the pension which Eleanor Augusta Blanchard may be and Regula-
granted on her retirement from the public service of tions to
the Colony, shall be subject to the provisions of the apply.
Pensions Ordinance, 1944, as amended, and the Regula-
tions thereunder and in the interpretation of this O di-
nance the provisions of Regulation 2 of the Pensions
Regulations, 1944, shall apply.

1951 BLANCHARD PENSION ORD.




Objects and Reasons.
Eleanor Augusta Blanchard was appointed Librari-
an in this Colony on 1st January, 1939. The post at
this time was not pensionable. On 1st January, 1946
the post was graded as a 3rd Class Clerk and became
pensionable as from that date.
The object of this Bill is to enable the period of
service prior to the 1st January, 1946 to be recognized
for pension purposes.
