ROAD TRAFFIC AUTHORITY
At their Public Sitting held in Magistrate's Court No. 2 over
the Central Police Station on Wednesday, 26th June, 1963, the
Road Traffic Authority announced that in view of the newly
created district of Freeport they had decided for administrative
purposes to divide equally between West End and Freeport the
100 taxi-cab licences previously authorised for the whole Island
of Grand Bahama. Persons wishing to have their cars licensed as
taxi-cabs should apply to the Commissioner of their district.
The Authority gave notice of their intention to set the maxi-
mum number of self-drive licences in the Freeport district at 50
cars. Any persons wishing to make representations about this
proposal must do so in writing to the Controller of Road Traffic
and forward same through the Commissioner at Freeport not
later than 15th August, 1963.
A proposal to increase the number of self-drive licences in
the Governor's Harbour district of Eleuthera by ten (10) cars was
also announced by the Authority. Persons wishing to object to
this proposal should do so in writing to the Controller of Road
Traffic forwarding same through the Commissioner at Governor's
Harbour not later than 15th August, 1963.

the applicant submitting to the Controller of Road Traffic within
two weeks evidence that he is a bona fide travel agent.
The application of Richard E. Slee, Manager of the Pilot
House Club, for a private scheduled omnibus service for con-
veying guests to the Club to and from the City and Fort Mon-
tagu Beach was granted one vehicle.
The application of Basil Woodside, Palm Beach Avenue, for
a public scheduled omnibus franchise for four (4) vehicles operat-
ing from Nassau Street to the City and return was approved sub-
ject to agreement between the applicant and the Controller of
Road Traffic regarding the various picking up and setting down
points and the vehicles to be used.

The applications of. Caribbean Motor Holding Co. (Baha-
mas), Ltd., for a variation of their existing self-drive franchise
and. Raymond W. Brown for a tour car franchise were not gran-
ted; those of George D. Tinker, Naboth Stubbs and Alexander
Constantakis were struck out due to non-attendance.

Tarpum Bay to Deep Creek was deferred until the September
Sitting; the applications of S. W. S. Burrows, Governor's Harbour,
and Cladwell N. Farrington, Alice Town, both for variations of
their existing self the quota for Governor's Harbour had already been filled.
The applications of "Holiday Inn", Treasure Cay, ABACO,
ElHkold G. Treco, Nicoll's Town, ANDROS, Mrs. Grace Kemp,
Rock Sound, ELEUTHERA, and Robe- R. Albury, George Town,
EXUMA, were struck out as neither the applicants nor represen-
tatives put in an appearance.
