IMPORTATION FOR SOME TEMPORARY PURPOSE,
UNDER PARAGRAPH 5 OF THE FOURTH SCHEDULE
TO THE TARIFF ACT
To avoid inconvenienceand the possibility of paying full duty
on equipment and other articles imported for some/ temporary
purpose under Paragraph 5 of the Fourth Schedule to the Tarifl
Act, the following .requirements, which will be rigidly enforced
are published for your information:-
A. Application should be made to the Governor in Council
through this Department stating full particulars, the pur-
pose for which imported and a complete list of equip-
ment with values.
B. A written assurance with sufficient corroborating details
that the possibility of local hiring had been unsuccessful.
C. Applicant must await the decision of the Governor in
Council before importing equipment or articles.
D. If approval be given applicant must enter into a bond
as required by the Paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to the
above requirements, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on the C.I.F. valuation.
3. Eleven copies are required describing the article or equip-
ment when applying for the importation of goods for temporary
purposes.

(No. 2) Order 1963.
