Monday 18th February, 1963 at the Road Traffic Department's
Office at the Eastern end of Fort Charlotte Grounds.
Licensing hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily
except Saturdays when the Office will close at 12 noon.
Fees payable in respect of the above mentioned licences will
be received by the Controller of Road Traffic for the Treasurer.
Bicycles should first be inspected by the Police at the inspec-
tion area at the Fort Charlotte grounds.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Taxi-cabs Maximum
Fares (Out Islands) Amendment Regulations 1963 and shall be
read as one with the Taxi-cabs Maximum Fares (Out Islands)
Regulations 1962 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regula-
tions).

THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1958

In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by the Road
Traffic Act 1958 the Road Traffic Authority with the approval of
the Governor in Council hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic and
Speed Limit (Nicoll's Town, Andros) Regulations 1963.
2. The provisions of these Regulations shall apply to the
Nicoll's Town District of the Island of Andros and shall be in
addition to any of the provisions of the Regulations made under
the Road Traffic Act 1958 which are applicable to the said Island.
PARKING
3. No vehicle shall be parked:
(a) in "Love Lane" Street in the Settlement of Nicoll's
Town at any time;
S(b) for 150 feet either way of "The Way Side Inn" located
on the main road approaching the Settlement of Nicoll's
Town; and
(c) for 100 feet either way of the sharp bend on the main
road at Campbell Town in the Settlement of Lowe
Sound.
4. Whoever commits an offence against the foregoing regula-
tion shall on summary conviction be liable to a penalty not
exceeding twenty pounds.
SPEED LIMIT
5. (1) Save as hereinafter specified the speed limit for motor
vehicles throughout the Nicoll's Town District of the Island of
Andros shall be FORTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR for motor
vehicles other than omnibuses having a seating capacity for more
than twenty passengers or motor trucks for which the speed limit
shall be THIRTY MILES PER HOUR.
(2) The speed limit for all motor vehicles shall be TWENTY
MILES PER HOUR within the limits of Settlements in the afore-
said District or along such lengths or parts of any road where it is
so indicated by traffic signs.
6. The provisions of regulation 5 of these Regulations shall
not apply to any vehicle on an occasion when it is being used for









fire:brigade, ambulance or police purposes if the observance of
these provisions would be likely to hinder the use of such vehicle
for the purpose to which it is being used on that occasion.

Traffic Act 1958 the Road Traffic Authority with the approval of
the Governor in Council hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic and
Speed Limit (Eleuthera) Regulations 1963.
INTERPRETATION
2. In these Regulations unless the context otherwise requires:
"Controller" means the Commissioner for the District of
Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera, or the Commissioner for the
District of Rock Sound, Eleuthera, or the Commissioner
for the Harbour Island District;
"District of Governor's Harbour" means the District of Governor's
Harbour as determined by the Governor in Council under
the provisions of the Out Islands Administration Act;
"District of Harbour Island" means the District of Harbour Island
as determined by the Governor in Council under the pro-
visions of the Out Islands Administration Act;
"District of Rock Sound" means the District of Rock Sound as
determined by the Governor in Council under the provisions
of the Out Islands Administration Act;
"public place" includes any square, open place, wharf, pier, jetty,
building or other place to which the public have access;










"street" includes any road, street, highway, sidewalk, footpath,
alley, lane or thoroughfare;
"vehicle" includes any motor car, carriage, cart, dray, waggon,
tricycle, bicycle, velocipede, or other vehicle of two or
more wheels, but does not include a baby carriage or
peramulator.
3. The provisions of these Regulations shall apply to the Dis-
tricts of Governor's Harbour, Harbour Island and Rock Sound and
shall be in addition to any of the provisions of the Regulations
made under the Road Traffic Act 1958, which are applicable to
the said Districts.
MAJOR AND MINOR STREETS
4. The following streets shall be deemed to be main streets
with rights of way thereon;
(a) the Main Road which runs throughout the Districts of
Governor's Harbour and Rock Sound and partly
through the Harbour Island District;
(b) all streets which run east and west in the settlement of
Rock Sound;
(c) Bay Street and Lord Street in the settlement of Tarpum
Bay;
(d) King Street, Elmore Street and Colebrook Street in the
settlement of Savannah Sound;
(e) West Hill Street and King Street in the settlement of
Palmetto Point;
(f) Parliament Street and Harbour Street in the settlement
of Governor's Harbour;
(g) Albert Street and Hill Street in the settlement of Alice
Town.
PLACES IN WHICH VEHICLES NOT ALLOWED
5. No motor traffic shall be allowed on:
(a) The Commissioner's Office Green at Governor's Har-
bour;
(b) The Parade Grounds at Governor's Harbour.
PARKING
6. (1) Except as otherwise herein specified, a vehicle may be
parked in any public place.
(2) No vehicle shall be parked:
(a) on any sidewalk, footpath or pathway;
(b) on any street in such a way as to obstruct the
access of any other vehicles to any private drive-
way, private garage, or yard abutting on such
street;










(c) on any bend of a street, or in such a position as
to be likely to be a nuisance or a danger or obstruc-
tion to any other vehicle;
(d) within fifteen feet of a corner, provided that where
a line is marked on a roadway designating a public
parking place a vehicle may park as near the adja-
cent corner as is indicated by such line;
(e) alongside any vehicle stopped or parked at the
edge or curb of a street.
(3) The Controller is hereby empowered to prescribe that in
any area where parking is permitted such parking shall be at an
angle with or parallel to the street.
(4) No person shall place, maintain or display upon or in view
of any.road or public place, any unauthorized sign or marking
which purports to be, or is an imitation of or resembles an official
sign or marking or which attempts to direct the movement of traf-
fic or parking of vehicles or which hides from view or interferes
with the effectiveness of. any official sign or marking and the
Controller is empowered to remove or cause to be removed any
such sign or marking.
(5) No vehicle shall:
(a) from half-hour after sunset until half-hour before
sunrise park on the Eleuthera Main Road, except in
a case of emergency when a vehicle may be parked
on the said road with its parking lights turned on;
(b) be parked in any of the following places in the
settlement of Rock Sound:
(i) William Street Both Sides
(ii) Duke Street Both Sides
(iii) Chapel Street Both Sides
(iv) Fish Street North Side
(v) Prince Street North Side
(vi) King Street (From sign "Rock Sound"
northern extremity to George Street) West Side
King Street (Between George Street and
southern boundary of Public Cemetery) East Side
(vii) Water Lane East Side
Henry Street (Between Duke and Chapel
to Commissioner's Office and Duke
Street) East Side
Henry Street (Btween Duke and Chapel
Streets) Both Sides
DIRECTIONS IN WHICH VEHICLES NOT TO BE DRIVEN
7. (1) Vehicles shall not be driven Northwards on Henry
Street in the settlement of Rock Sound.









(2) Vehicles shall not be driven Westwards on the follow-
ing streets in the settlement of Rock Sound:
(a) William Street between King Street and Water Lane.
(b) Chapel Street.
(3) Vehicles shall not be driven Eastwards on Duke Street
or Henry Street in the settlement of Rock Sound.
PENALTY
8. Whoever commits an offence against any of the foregoing
regulations shall on summary conviction be liable to a fine not
exceeding twenty pounds.
SPEED LIMIT
9. (1) Save as hereinafter specified the speed limit for motor
vehicles throughout the Districts of Governor's Harbour, Harbour
