THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Ch. 254)
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is re-
quired for a public purpose
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council on behalf of
the Promoters, the Public Board of Works for Marsh Harbour,
Abaco, to acquire the said land for a public purpose to wit: for
the purpose of constructing a public road between the Marsh
Harbour and Green Turtle Cay Airports at Abaco
ALL persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim
to compensation for such interests.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1958
(No. 57 of 1958)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by the Road
Traffic Act 1958 the Road Traffic Authority with the approval
of the Governor in Council hereby make the following Regula-
tions:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Taxi-cabs Maxi-
mum Fares (Out Islands) Amendment Regulations 1962 and shall
be read as one with the Taxi-cabs Maximum Fares (Out Islands)
Regulations 1962 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regula-
tions).
2. The Schedule to the principal Regulations is hereby
amended by adding at the end thereof the following:
Exuma
1. For the conveyance of up to and including three
passengers from the start of the journey to:-
(a) Any point WITHIN a five mile limit within or
between Settlements:
For the first half mile 4/-
For each additional half mile 1/6
(b) Any point OUTSIDE a five mile limit or
from one Settlement to another:
For each mile (both ways) 1/6
For each mile (one way) 3/-
2. For the conveyance of each additional passenger over
three from the start of the journey to:
(a) Any point WITHIN a five mile limit
within or between Settlements 4/-
(b) Any point OUTSIDE a five mile limit
or from one Settlement to another 10/-
3. For the conveyance of-
A child under eight years of age Fare
A child under three years of age
Accompanied by a passenger No Fare
4. If hired by time for the use of the whole cab:-
A seven passenger cab, per hour 35/-
A five passenger cab, per hour 28/-
5. For every additional half hour or part thereof:-
A seven passenger cab 17/6
A five passenger cab 14/-
6. If the taxi-cab is required to wait after being hired other-
wise than by the hour from:
(a) Any point WITHIN a five mile limit within
or between Settlements:
Ten minutes free for returning passenger
For each additional five minutes or
part thereof 2/-
(b) Any point OUTSIDE a five mile limit or
from one Settlement to another:










Up to thirty miles from start of
journey one hour free
Over thirty miles from start of
journey two hours free
For each additional half hour or
part thereof 10/-
7. All baggage carried FREE."
