A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by virtue of certain Writs of Election issued
under the Great Seal of the Colony a General Assembly of these
Islands has been appointed to be holden at the City of Nassau
on Friday, the thirtieth day of November, instant.
I do therefore issue this my Proclamation declaring that upon
the said General Assembly being duly constituted by the Election
of Members thereof in pursuance of the said Writs the said
General Assembly shall on Friday, the thirtieth day of November,
1962, meet in the usual place in the City of Nassau for the des-
patch of business.

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to the provisions of the said
sub-clause (19) of clause 2 amended as aforesaid the Governor
by and with the advice of the Executive Council declares that the
said land delineated on such survey plan be a part of the Port
Area within the meaning of the said Agreement dated the 4th
day of August 1955
1. This Order shall be cited as the Hawksbill Creek Grand
Bahama (Deep Water Harbour and Industrial Area) Port Authority
Order 1962.
2. This Order shall come into force on the date of its pub-
lication in the Official Gazette.

TELEVISION COMMISSION ACT
(Chapter 14)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section
18 of the Bahamas Broadcasting and Television Commission Act
the Bahamas Broadcasting and Television Commission with the
approval of the Governor in Council hereby make the following
Rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Bahamas Broadcasting
and Television Commission Amendment Rules 1962 and shall be
read as one with the Bahamas Broadcasting and Television Com-
mission Rules 1957 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Rules).
2. Rule 4 of the principal Rules is hereby revoked and the
following substituted therefore:
"4. Paid political broadcasts shall be permitted on the
following basis:-










(1) Any declared candidate for election may purchase
one fifteen minute programme of air time for per-
sonal use . .between the date of the issue of a
writ of election and polling day (or nomination day
if there shall be no other candidate for the seat).
(2) In the case of a general election a political party
may also purchase air time for two fifteen minute
programmes, between the date of the issue of writs
of election and polling day, and may assign any
declared candidate to speak on such programme.
(3) Each programme shall be pre-recorded by the staff
of the station and shall be approved by the Gen-
eral Manager or Assistant Manager in accordance
with rule 2 before payment is made.
(4) The broadcast fee shall be payable in advance and
will include cost of the air time at the prevailing
rates plus a recording fee."

THE TARIFF ACT 1959
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in
Council by section 9(1) of the Tariff Act the following Order is
hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Customs Duties (Banana)
Order, 1962.
2. The duties of Customs on bananas shall be as set out in
the Maximum A column of PART I of the Second Schedule to
the Tariff Act.
