Tenders for submissiotto. the Governr in Council will be
received at the Secretariat until Noon, Saturday the 3rd Novem-
ber, 1962, for the following Printing Contract:-
The printing of a weekly Gazette and Supplement, the ma-
terial for which will be supplied each week from this Office on a
day to be agreed upon with the tenderer. The Gazette will be
in foolscap size and the Supplement containing subsidiary legis-
lation will be in pamphlet size. The tender should cover .ie cost
and delivery of 300 copies to this Office weekly on the day of
publication.
The tenderer should also quote the rate per each additipoal
50 copies in excess of 300. Samples of paper to em used should
be submitted.
2. Persons tendermg are required to submit with thei
tenders the names of two eligible persons who are willing to be
come bound with them for the due performance of-the work and
who should also sign and seal the tenders.

TENDERS FOR MAIL SERVICE


In accordance with the provision of the Inter-Insular Mails Act (Chapter 253), the Governor-
in-Council will consider tenders for the performance of the undermentioned Mail, Passenger and
Freight Services.
2. Sealed tenders addressed to the Colonial Secretary will be received at this office up to
noon on Saturday the 10th November, 1962.
3. Tenders must be on the printed form, copies of which can be obtained at the Office of
the Colonial Secretary where a form of contract can also be inspected and further particulars
obtained. A REPORT ON THE MAIL VESSEL, BY THE PILOTAGE BOARD, SHOULD
ACCOMPANY ALL TENDERS.
4. No tender will be accepted until the vessel has been favourably reported on by a com-
petent authority to the satisfaction of the Governor-in-Council. Particular attention will be paid
to the condition of engine, sails, rigging, life saving and fire extinguishing appliances, boats etc.,
and to the provision of proper passenger and toilet accommodation.
5. Special consideration will be given to tenders proposing vessels which have steam or
other mechanical power.
6. The term of the contract will be for the period 1st January to 31st December, 1963.
7. If at any time the survey of a contract vessel is required by the Government the neces-
sary fees are to be borne by the contractors.
8. Out Island Commissioners travelling on duty or on transfer with their families and
effects must be transported free of charge.
9. Any motor vessel awarded a contract will be required to be fitted with properly con-
structed and ventilated tanks for the storage of gasoline or diesel oil required for her operation,
and these tanks should carry a sufficient quantity of fuel for each round trip. A reserve tank will
also be required to be installed for use in case of emergency. The vessel will also have to be
equipped with chemical sprays.
10. The attention of every person tendering for a contract for the carriage of mails is drawn
to the carrier services which will have to be performed by the contractor and paid for by the
contractor.
11. The right is reserved of rejecting the whole or any of the tenders.
