PARAGRAPH 5 OF THE FOURTH SCHEDULE
TO THE TARIFF ACT
To avoid inconvenience- and- the possibility of paying full
duty on equipment and other- articles- imported for some tem-
porary purpose uhder paragraph 5 of the Fourth Schedule to
the Tariff Act, the following requirements, which will be rigidly
enforced are published for your information:-
..(a)" Application. should be made to the Governor in Council
:through this Department stating full particulars, -the
purpose for which- imported and a complete list of
equipment with values.
(b) A written assurance with sufficient corroborating,.details
that the possibility of local hiring had been unsuccessful.
(c) Applicant must await the .decision of the Governor in
Council before ifiporting equipment or articles.
(d) If approval be given applicant must enter into a Bond
as required by the paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to
the above requirements, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on -the C.I.F.. Valuation.
3. Eleven copies are required describing the article or
equipment when applying for the importation of goods for
temporary purposes. ..

The subjoined Rules made under The Public Health Act
(Chapter 35) are published for general information.

RULES
Made Under
THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT
(Chapter 35)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section
37 of the Public Health Act the Health Board with the approval
of and confirmation by the Governor in Council hereby make the
X following Rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Health Amendment
Rules 1962 and shall be read*as one with the Health Rules 1934
(hereinafter called the principal Rules).
2. Rlle 9 of the principal Rules is hereby amended by in-
gerting immediately after the word "liable" appearing in the
fifth line thereof the words "on summary conviction".
3. Rule 13 of the principal Rules is hereby revoked and re-
placed as follows:-
13. (1) Every person who shall deposit the carcass, of
any animal any putrid substance, filth, offal, garbage,
refuse, or rubbish of any description on or by the side
of any street, road, or lane, or on any unoccupied lot,
or in any other place other than on a recognized dump-
ing ground shall be liable on summary conviction to the
penalties prescribed by section 52 of the Public Health
Act.
4. Rule 14 of the principal Rules is hereby amended by in-
serting immediately after the word "liable" appearing in the
twelfth line thereof the words "on summary conviction".
5. Rule 161 of the principal Rules is hereby amended by
inserting immediately after the word "liable" appearing in the
thirteenth line thereof the words "on summary conviction".

Knowles Pension Order 1962.










2. A pension at the rate of Five Hundred and Sixteen
Pounds Thirteen Shillings and Four Pence (516 13 4) per an-
num as from the 9th day of May, 1962, is hereby granted to Uriah
Theophilus Knowles.

THE EXPLOSIVES ACT
In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 3
of the Explosives Act the Governor in Council hereby makes the
following Rules:

Substances Amendment Rules 1962 and shall be read and con-
strued as one with the Explosives and Volatile Substances Rules
1953 (hereinafter called the principal Rules).
2. Rule 30 of the principal Rules is hereby amended as
follows:
(a) by deleting the words "Except with the permission of
the Governor in Council and" appearing in the first and
second lines of paragraph (1) thereof;
(b) by deleting the small letter "s" in the word "subject"
appearing in the second line of paragraph (1) thereof
and substituting therefore the capital letter "S"; and
(c) by inserting at the end thereof the following additional
paragraph numbered as paragraph (5);
(5) It shall be lawful for the Governor in Coun-
cil to exempt any person from the provisions of this
rule upon such terms and conditions as the Gover-
nor in Council may deem fit."
