NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND:ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 111 dated the 26th day of May,
1962 and published in the Official Gazette dated the 26th day
of May, 1962, the Governor in Council declared that it was his
intention on behalf of the Promoters the Local Board of Works
for Green Castle, Eleuthera to acquire the land described in the
Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
be obtained by the Promoters before payment is made to the
rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule here-
to
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Promoters mentioned in the
said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

SCHEDULE
ALL THAT piece parcel or lot of land formerly owned by
the late Zaccheus Smith, containing 0.113 of an acre situate in
the Settlement of Green Castle in the Island of Eleuthera one
of the Bahama Islands more particularly described as follows:-
Commencing at a point marked by a concrete monument set
at the Northeast corner of the Buddy Rattray Estate as it meets
a six foot wide lane thence in a direction North 610 22' East for
a distance of Fifty-five and Seventy-one hundredths (55.71) feet
and bounded by the said lane thence South 350 42' East for a
distance of Seventy-one and Seventy-five hundredths (71.75) feet
and bounded by land the property of Vera Gardiner thence
South 540 37' West for a distance of Seventy-five and Fourteen
hundredths (75.14) feet and bounded by land the property of the
said Vera Gardiner thence North 210 49' West for a distance of
Eighty and Eighty-seven hundredths (80.87) feet and bounded
by the said Buddy Rattray Estate to the point of beginning,
which said piece parcel or lot of land is coloured Pink on a
plan attached to Secretariat Minute Paper No. 16365.

intention on behalf of the Promoters, the Health Board, to ac-

AND. WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
be obtained by the Promoters before payment is made to the
rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule here-

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in
Council by section 4 of the Pensions Act (Ch. 365) the following
Order is hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the John Bruce Dean Pen-
.sion Order 1962.
2. A reduced pension at the rate of Five hundred and Fifty-
eight pounds Seventeen shillings and eleven pence (558. 17. 11)
per annum as from the 30th day of June, 1962 together with a
gratuity in the amount of One thousand Eight hundred and
Sixty-two pounds Ninteen shillings and two pence (1862. 19. 2.)
are hereby granted to John Bruce Dean.

Pension Order 1962.

2. A reduced pension at the rate of Three Hundred and
Fifty-seven pounds Five shillings and Eight pence (357-5-8)
per annum as from the 1st day of April, 1962 together with a
gratuity in the amount of One Thousand One Hundred and
Ninety Pounds Eighteen Shillings and Four Pence (1190-18-4)
are hereby granted to Frederick James Smith.

Made Under
THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS ACT
(Chapter 66)
In exercise of the powers vested in the Governor in Council
by section 64 of the Children and Young Persons Act the follow-
ing Rules are hereby made:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Children and Young
Persons (Protection) Amendment Rules 1962 and shall be read
and construed as one with the Children and Young Persons (Pro-
tection) Rules 1949 (hereinafter called the principal Rules).
2. Paragraph (1) of rule 3 of the principal Rules is hereby
amended by deleting the word "five" appearing in the third line
thereof and substituting therefore the word "seven".

RULES
Made Under
THE RACECOURSE BETTING ACT
(Chapter 16)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 4(12)
of the Racecourse Betting Act the Racing Commission hereby
makes the following Rules.
1. These Rules may be cited as the Rules of Racing Amend-
ment (No. 2) Rules 1962 and shall be read as one with the Rules
of Racing 1955 as amended from time to time (hereinafter re-
ferred to as the principal Rules).
2. The principal Rules are hereby amended as follows:
(a) by deleting therefrom paragraph (i) of rule 178; and
(b) by deleting paragraph (b) of rule 252 thereof and
substituting therefore the following:
"(b) For an owner-trainer or a trainer to qualify
for an owner-trainer's or a trainer's licence he
must have such minimum number of horses as
the Commission in their discretion may decide,
and not more than fifteen (15) horses in his
care.
Made by the Racing Commission this 30th day of May 1962.
