NOTICE OF INTENTION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
for a public purpose
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council on behalf of
the Promoters, The Public Board of Works for New Providence,
to acquire the said land for a public purpose to wit: for the pur-
pose of constructing a road connecting Gibbs Corner and Centre-
ville
ALL persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests in
the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim to
compensation for such interests.

and published in the Official Gazette dated 26th day of May,
1962, the Governor in Council on behalf of the Promoters, the
Public Board of Works for Marsh Harbour, Abaco, to acquire the
land described in the Schedule hereto

AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
should be obtained by the Promoters before payment is made to
the rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule
hereto

land has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the
purposes mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date
of this notice.

WHEREAS by Notice No. 95 dated the 19th day of May,
1962 and published in the Official Gazette dated the 19th day
of May, 1962, the Governor in Council declared that it was his
intention on behalf of the Promoters The Telecommunications
Board, to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
be obtained by the Promoters before payment is made to the
rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule here-
to
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Promoters mentioned in the
said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

gram or plan which said piece parcel or tract of land is bounded
on the North by the Pine Barren Road and running thereon Two
hundred and Ten (210.00) feet on the East by land said to be
the property of W. Jarret and running thereon Three hundred
and Nineteen and Twelve hundredths (319.12) feet on the South
by land the property of E. Cyril Knowles and running thereon

WHEREAS by Notice No. 127 dated the 16th June, 1962 and
published in the Official Gazette dated the 16th June, 1962, the
Governor in Council declared that it was his intention to acquire
the land described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
should be obtained by the Governor in Council before payment
is made to rightful claimants to the property described in the
Schedule hereto
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the
purposes mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date
of this notice.

SCHEDULE
ALL THAT certain tract or parcel of land situate at Riding
Point on the Southern shore of the Island of Grand Bahama, one
of the Bahama Islands as outlined on Corps, of Engineers, U.S.
Army map designated Drawing No. RE-2891 and on file at (46B)
on Secretariat Minute Paper No. 14210J/XII which said map by
this reference is made a part hereof, and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the brass disc set in concrete at the Northwest
corner of Tract No. GB-310 as described and shown on Map
file No. E 51 TF 1827 which is on record in Minute Paper No.
1017 B of the Crown Lands Office at Nassau on the Island of
New Providence, Bahama Islands, go thence along a portion of
the Eastern boundary of a tract of Sixty (60) acres granted to
Ben Claxton in 1830, as described in Book B, page 148 on
record in the said Crown Lands Office at Nassau on the Island
of New Providence, and which is also the Western boundary of
the said Tract No. GB-310, South 15 degrees 52 minutes East,
Four hundred and Sixty and Sixty-three hundredths (460.63) feet
to a brass disc set in concrete; thence continuing along a portion

The subjoined Order in Council made under The Town Plan-
ning Act 1961 is published for general information.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Made Under
THE TOWN PLANNING ACT 1961
In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 4
Sof the Town Planning Act 1961 the Governor in Council hereby
makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as The Town Planning Zoning
Order 1962.










2. It is hereby ordered that new buildings shall be permitted
only for use as apartment houses, hotels and dwelling houses and
for purposes incidental to such use within that area of land in
the Western District of the Island of New Providence known as
Cable Beach bounded on the East by the Eastern boundary of
the Bahamas Country Club on the South by West Bay Street on
the West by the property known as "Casa Rosa" and on the
North by the sea the said area of land being shown within the
broken lines appearing on the plan or diagram in the First
Schedule hereto.
3. All new buildings constructed within the said area of
land shall be limited to a maximum height of Sevq ty-three (73)
feet and shall be subject to the formula restricting height set out
in the Second Schedule hereto.
Ordered in Council this 4th day of July, 1962.

Using the minimum dimension measured at right. angles to
the north south central axis of the site, building shall be allowed
only within a vertical plane formed by a triangle, having as its
base the minimum dimension, with base angles totalling 1000
subject to a minimum angle of 350.









Act hereby nominates Mr. Orville Turnquest, Justice of the
Peace, to try cases singly in the City of Nassau, Bahamas.
This Order shall come into force on the 7th day of July, 1962,
and shall expire on the 31st day of August, 1962.
Ordered in Council this 7th day of July, 1962.
