Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 122 dated the 9th day of June,
1962 and published in the Official Gazette dated the 9th day of
June, 1962, the Governor in Council declared that it was his in-
tention on behalf of the Promoters The Public Board of Works
for Marsh Harbour, Abaco, to acquire the land described in the
Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land be
obtained by the Promoters before payment is made to the right-
ful claimants to the property described in the Schedule hereto
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Promoters mentioned in the
said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
for a public purpose:
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council to acquire
the said land for a public purpose to wit: for the purpose of im-
plementing the Agreement made with the concurrence of the
Government of the Bahama Islands between the Government of
the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and the Government
of the United States of America concerning a Long Range Proving
Ground for Guided Missiles to be known as "The Bahamas Long
Range Proving Ground".
ALL persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests in
the .said land and the amount and particulars of their claim to
compensation for such interests.

map designated Drawing No. RE-2890 and on file at (72B) on
Secretariat Minute Paper No. 14210J/IX which said map by, this
reference is made a part hereof, and more particularly described

From the iron pin set in an eight (8) inch square concrete
monument at the Southwest corner of the said Three hundred
and Sixty-six (366) acre tract of land formerly known as Pine
Ridge Lumber Camp as shown on Plan No. 33 Grand Bahama.
which is on record in the Crown Lands Office at Nassau on the
Island of New Providence, Bahama Islands, go thence along a
portion of the Western boundary of said tract of Three hundred
and Sixty-six acres formerly known as Pine Ridge Lumber Camp,
North Six hundred and Forty-seven and Eighty-two hundredths
(647.82) feet to an iron pin set in concrete on the Northern
boundary of a private road extending through the said tract of
Three hundred and Sixty-six (366) acres as shown on the said
Plan No. 33 Grand Bahama; thence along a portion of the North-
ern boundary of the said private road wth the following two (2)
courses:
North 65 degrees 10 minutes East, Two hundred and Twenty
(220) feet to an iron pin set in concrete, thence North 65 degrees
18 minutes East, Four hundred and Seventy-four and three hun-
dredths (474.03) feet to a bronze disc set in concrete, which is
the point of beginning of Tract No. GB-339 being described
herein;
From this point of beginning, go thence North 24 degrees
42 minutes West, Three hundred (300) feet to a bronze disc set
in concrete; thence North 65 degrees 18 minutes East, Three hun-
dred (300) feet to a bronze disc set in concrete; thence South 24
degrees 42 minutes East, Three hundred (300) feet to a bronze
disc set in concrete on the Northern boundary of the said private
road; thence along a portion of the Northern boundary of the
said private road South 65 degrees 18 minutes West, Three hun-
dred (300) feet back to the point of beginning; which said tract
or parcel of land herein described and known as Tract GB-339
contains Two and Seven hundredths (2.07) acres, more or less.

this reference is made a part hereof, and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the brass disc set in concrete at the Northwest
corner of Tract No. GB-310 as described and shown on Map file
No. E 51 TF 1827 which is on record in Minute Paper No. 1017B
of the Crown Lands Office at Nassau on the Island of New Pro-
vidence, Bahama Islands, go thence along a portion of the East-
ern boundary of a tract of Sixty (60) acres granted to Ben Claxton
in 1830, as described in Book B, page 148 on record in the said
Crown Lands Office at Nassau on the Island of New Providence,
and which is also the Western boundary of the said Tract No.
CGB-310, South 15 degrees 52 minutes East, Four hundred and
Sixty and Sixty-three hundredths (460.63) feet to a brass disc set
in concrete; thence continuing along a portion of the Eastern
boundary of the said tract of Sixty (60) acres granted to Ben Clax-
ton, South 15 degrees 52 minutes East, Forty (40) feet to a point
on the mean high water mark of the sea on the Southern coast
of Grand Bahama Island; thence leaving the Eastern boundary
of the said tract of Sixty (60) acres granted to Ben Claxton and
along the meander of the mean high water mark of the sea on
the said Southern coast of Grand Bahama Island, North 88 de-
grees 25 minutes West, Three hundred and Fourteen and Fifty-
two hundredths (314.52) feet to a point on the said mean high
water mark of the sea; thence leaving the said high water mark
of the sea and through the said lands granted to Ben Claxton in
1830, North 15 degrees 51 minutes West, Forty-five (45) feet to a
brass disc set in concrete; thence continuing through the said
lands granted to Ben Claxton in 1830, North 15 degrees 51
minutes West, Three hundred and Forty-nine ansd Ninety-five
hundredths (349.95) feet to a brass disc set in concrete; thence
North 71 degrees 58 minutes East, Three hundred (300.00) feet
back to the point of beginning; which said tract or parcel of land
herein described and known as Tract No. GB-340 contains Three
and Nine hundredths (3.09) acres, more or less.
