THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Ch. 254)
-WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is re-
quired for a public purpose
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council on behalf of
the Promoters, the Public Board of Works for Marsh Harbour,
Abaco, to acquire the said land for a public purpose to wit: for
the purpose of constructing a public road between the Marsh
Harbour and Green Turtle Cay Airports at Abaco
ALL' persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim
to compensation for such interests.

Made Under
THE TRADE UNION AND INDUSTRIAL CONCILIATION
ACT 1958
WHEREAS it is provided by the Trade Upion and Industrial
Conciliation Act 1958, section 61 that the Governor in Council
may, after consulting the Labour Board, refer any matters ap-

pute whether existing or apprehended'to a Court of Inquiry ap-
pointed by the Governor in Council for the purpose of such
reference
AND WHEREAS a trade dispute exists between the follow-
ing employers: Nassau Beach Properties, Limited Mr. George
Baker, Bahamas Supply Airconditioning Limited Mr. Mitchell
S Baker (hereinafter called the Employers) and employees who are
members of the Amalgamated Building Constructional and Civil
Engineering Trade Union (hereinafter called the Employees)
AND WHEREAS the Governor in Council has consulted the
Labour Board regarding the said dispute
SNOW THEREFORE in exercise of the powers conferred
upon the Governor in Council by section 61 of the Trade Union
and Industrial Conciliation Act 1958 the following Order is here-
by Inade:
1. Mr. Mervyn Johnson, Mr. Newell Kelly and Mr. Charles
H. Fisher are appointed a Court of Inquiry to inquire 'ifto all
matters in dispute between the Employers and the Employees
relating to:
(a) Payment for overtime.
(b) Rates of pay in accordance with wage scales.
c) Dismissal of employees.
S(d) Seniority and ability of employees.
(e) Transportation of employees.
and to report thereon to the Governor in Council.
2. The following rules for the regulation of the procedure
of the Court .of Inquiry are hereby made:
(a) Any person may, by notice in writing signed by the
Chairman of the Court, be requested to attend as
a witness and give evidence before the Court, or to
attend and produce any documents relevant to the
subject matter of the Inquiry, or to furnish, in writ-
ing or otherwise as the Court may direct, such par-
ticulars in relation to the subject matter of the In-
quiry as the Court may require.
(b) The Court may require any witness to give evidence
on oath, and the Chairman, or any person duly au-
thorised by him, may administer an oath for that
purpose.
(c) The Court may act notwithstanding any vacancy in
its number, and two members shall form a quorum.
(d) The report and any interim report of the Court
shall be made to the Governor in Council in writing,
and shall be signed by such of the members as con-
cur therein, and shall be transmitted to him as soon
as prActicable, and any minority report by any dis-
sentient member of the Court shall be made and
transmitted in like manner.









(e) Subject to these rules the Court may regulate its
own procedure as it thinks fit.
3. Mr. Mervyn Johnson is hereby appointed Chairman of
the Court of Inquiry and Mr. Martin Pounder Secretary to the
Court of Inquiry. ,
