NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 80 dated 5th day of May, 1962
and published in the Official Gazette dated 5th day of May, 1962,
the Governor in Council on behalf of the Promoters, the Public
Board of Works for Mastic Ponit, Andros, to acquire the land
described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
should be obtained by the Promoters before payment is made
to the rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule
hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the
purposes mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date
of this notice.

ALL THAT piece parcel or lot of land commencing at a
point situate approximately one half of a mile Southwestward of
the Settlement of North Mastic Point, Andros, and on the West-
ern side of a Fifty (50) foot wide public road reservation separat-
ing the said piece parcel or lot of land herein described from
Riley Pond and running in a direction of 770 28' 55" West of
magnetic North for a distance of Two hundred and Fifty-eight
hundredths (200.58) feet and bounded thereon by land the prop-
erty of N. and J. Taylor now said to be in the process of acqui-
sition by the B6ard of Education thence in a direction of 25"
44' 59" West of magnetic South for a distance of Two hundred
(200) feet and being bounded theeron by land said to be the prop-
erty of the said N. and J. Taylor thence in a direction of 770 28'
feet and being bounded thereon by land said to be the property
of the said N. and J. Taylor thecen in.a direction of 250 54' 44"
East of magnetic North for a distance of Two hundred (200)
feet and being bounded thereon by the said Fifty (50) foot wide
public road reservation to the point of commencement the said
piece parcel or lot of land having such position boundaries marks
shape and dimensions as are shown on the diagram or plan at-
tached to Secretariat Minute Paper 15863 and delineated on that
part which is coloured Pink on the said diagram or plan.
The foregoing notices numbered 113 to 116 are published
by command.

PARAGRAPH 5 OF THE FOURTH SCHEDULE
TO THE TARIFF ACT
To avoid inconvenience and the possibility of paying full
duty on equipment and other articles imported for some tem-

porary purpose under paragraph 5 of the Fourth Schedule to
the Tariff Act, the following requirements, which will be rigidly
enforced are published for your information:-
(a) Application should be made to the Governor in Council
through this Department stating full particulars, the
purpose for which imported and a complete list of
equipment with values.
(b) A written assurance with sufficient corroborating details
that the possibility of local hiring had been unsuccessful.
(c) Applicant must await the decision of the Governor in
Council before importing equipment or articles.
(d) If approval be given applicant must enter into a Bond
as required by the paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to
the above requirements, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on the C.I.F. Valuation.
3. Eleven copies are required describing the article or
equipment when applying for the importation of goods for
temporary purposes.

The subjoined Rules made under Section 7 of The Airports
Board Act, Chapter 12, are published for general information.

RULES
Made Under
SECTION 7 OF THE AIRPORTS BOARD ACT
(Chapter 12)
1. These Rules may be cited as the Bahamas Airport
(Amendment) Rules 1962 and shall be read as one with the Ba-
N hams Airport Rules 1957 as amended from time to time (herein-
after referred to as the principal Rules).

2. The principal Rules are hereby amended as follows:-
(a) by adding at the end of rule 14 thereof the following:
All vehicles used in any of these areas must
have their exhausts fitted with flame arresters.";
(b) by adding after rule 16 thereof the following rule:
"16A. No taxi-cab shall be left at the airport at any
time unless accompanied by a licensed taxi-cab
driver who must remain seated in his vehicle or in
close proximity to it at all times";
(c) by deleting the figures "10" appearing in the third
line of rule 18 thereof and substituting therefore the
figures "15";
(d) by revoking rule 21 thereof and substituting there-
for the following:

21. No person shall dispose of rubbish, papers, re-
fuse or other materials on the airport except in recep-
tacles provided for that purpose: provided that where
the amount of rubbish, papers, refuse or other ma-
terials cannot be contained in such receptacles, then
such amount shall only be put out for collection at
times to be specified in writing by the Director of
Civil Aviation.
No articles, property or equipment shall be
abandoned within the airport boundary.";
(e) by deleting the word "Disorderly" appearing in the
heading of rule 24 thereof;
(f) by adding after rule 24 thereof the following rule:
"24A. No person shall enter the covered area imme-
diately to the north of the Customs section of the
terminal building while passengers are leaving or are
about to leave this part of the building except such
passengers and any other persons who may be au-
thorized in writing by the Director of Civil Aviation."
