RENEWAL OF GUN LICENCES
Holders of Gun Licences in New Providence are reminded
that these Licences expire on the thirty-first day of December,
md should be renewed annually.
Gun Licences are issued and renewed free of charge by the
Commissioner of Police at Police Barracks, East Street, Nassau.
Any person possessing, or having in his or her custody, or using
or carrying any gun without a Gun Licence, shall be liable to
prosecution.

DEPARTMENTAL NOTICE
Importation for Some Temporary Purpose Under Paragraph
5 of The Fourth Schedule to The Tariff Act
To avoid inconvenience and the possibility of paying full duty
on equipment and other articles imported for some temporary
purpose under Paragraph 5 of The Fourth Schedule to The Tariff
Act, the following requirements, which will be rigidly enforced
are published for your information:
a. Application should be made to the Governor in Council
through this department stating full particulars, the pur-
pose for which imported and a complete list of equipment
with values.
b. A written assurance,,with sufficient corroborating details
that the possibility of local hiring has been unsuccessful.
c. Applicant must await the decision of the Governor in
Council before importing equipment or articles.

d. If approval be given applicant must enter into a bond
as required by the paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to
the above requirements, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on the C.I.F. Valuation.
3. Eleven copies are required describing the article or
equipment when applying for the importation of goods for tem-
porary purposes.

THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT
(Ch. 35)
Short Title
(1) These Rules may be cited as the Health Amendment
Rules, 1962 and shall be read as one with the Health
Rules, 1934.
Amends Rule 10
(2) The Health Rules, 1934 are hereby amended by adding
at the end of rule 10 thereof the following paragraph:









"(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (2) of this
rule it shall be lawful for the Health Board to grant permission
in writing to the owners for the time being of that area of Hog
Island comprising the tract of land known as Saratogo and a por-
tion of the tract of land known as Howelton or The Nassau Dry
Dock and delineated on the diagram annexed to an Indenture of
Conveyance dated the Sixth day of March, 1953 and recorded in
the Registry of Records in Book K. 20 at pages 44 to 46 and there-
on coloured Pink AND ALSO the lots numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
7, 9, 10 and 11 of a Plan of Eleven lots of Hog Island laid out by
the Surveyor General of the Colony and filed in the Crown Lands
Office of the Colony as No. 73 AND ALSO a portion comprising
5 acres of Lot No. 8 of the said Plan No. 73 the said portion being
delineated on the diagram annexed to an Indenture of Convey-
ance dated the Twenty-third day of December, 1941 and recorded
in the Registry of Records in Book G. 13 at pages 440 to 443 and
theron coloured Pink AND ALSO another portion comprising 5
acres of the said Lot No. 8 of the said Plan No. 73 the said por-
tion being delineated on the diagram annexed to an Indenturb of
Conveyance dated the Fourth day of April, 1941 and recorded in
the Registry of Records in Book A. 15 at pages 189 to 191 and
thereon coloured Pink to keep horses thereon subject to the fol-
lowing conditions:
(a) All stables shall be situated at least 200 feet from any
other building whether occupied or not;
(b) The site and construction of the stables shall be subject
to the approval of the Health Board;
(c) Any permission granted by the Health Board under this
paragraph may be revoked if the stables are found to
cause a nuisance;
(d) Permission to keep horses under this paragraph shall
only be granted for one year at a time."
Made by the Health Board under the authority of Section 37
of The Public Health Act, Chapter 35 this 30th day of January
1962.
