Importation for Some Temporary Purpose Under Paragraph 5
of the 4th Schedule to the Tariff Act
1. To avoid inconvenience and the possibility of paying full
duty on equipment and other articles imported for some tem-
porary purpose under paragraph 5 of the Fourth Schedule to the
Tariff Act, the following requirements, which will be rigidly
enforced, are published for your information:-

a. Application should be made to the Governor-in-Council
through this department stating full particulars, the pur-
pose for which imported, a complete list of equipment
with values and if obtainable locally.
b. Applicant must await decision of the Governor-in-Coun-
cil before importaing equipment or articles.
c. If approval be given applicant must enter into a bond as
required by the paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to
the above requirements, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on the C.I.F. valuation.

Applications are invited for the following vacant posts in
Government Departments:
Medical Department
One (1) Trainee Clerk/Typist. Salary in the range of 375-
440.
Two (2) Health Assistants (Male). Applicants must hold the
Cambridge School Certificate or equivalent. Salary in the range
of 450 950. (375 440 if under 20 years of age). Success-
ful applicants will be on probation for one year and if considered
satisfactory, will be given the opportunity to study for one
scholastic year at a recognized Public Health Training School.
Girls Industrial School
One (1) Superintendent. Previous experience in the Adminis-
tration of a home for delinquent girls, experience in the teach-
ing of domestic science and some knowledge of nursing are re-
quired. Applicants should be over the age of 30 years. The
salary will be 1500 per annum plus a 'lemiporary allowance of
2V2% of salary. Quarters will be provided in the schuul.
Two (2) Assistant Matrons commencing salary 450 per
annum in Salary Scale 450 x 50 850 plus 21/2% Temporary Al-
lowance.
Cook Supervisor and Storekeeper (Female) Commencing
salary 395 per annum in Salary Scale 395 x 25 540 plus
2Y2% Temporary Allowance.
Handyman and Gardener Commencing salary 395 per
annum in Salary Scale 395 x 25 540 plus 21/% Temporary Al-
lowance.
Treasury Department
One (1) Shorthand/Typist. Some experience essential. Salary
in the range of 670 970.
One (1) Machine Operator (Female) preferably with book-
keeping and or Accounting Machine experience. Successful can-
didate will receive training. Salary in the scale 450 970.

NOTICE TO MARINERS
The attention of all Captains and boat Owners is drawn to
the following rule made under the Authority of section 46 of the
Pilotage Act.
"No vessel of less than 30 tons gross shall obstruct the fair-
way by tacking or crossing the bows of any incoming or outgoing
vessel exceeding 30 tons gross."
Government tenders and other vessels are being seriously in-
convenienced by the actions of small craft. Captains and Boat
owners are asked to cooperate in the prevention of collision by
complying with the above quoted regulation.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1958
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by the Road
Traffic Act 1958 the Road Traffic Authority with the approval
of the Governor-in-Council hereby make the following Regula-
tions:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic
Amendment (No. 5) Regulations, 1960 and shall be read as one
with the Road Traffic Regulations 1959 as amended from time to
time (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations).
