NOW THEREFORE the Governor in Council in exercise of
the powers vested in him as aforesaid doth hereby Order as fol-
lows:
1. The provisions of the Road Traffic Act 1958 as amended
from time to time, with the exception of sections 62 (1)(b), 69(2),
78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87; 88; 89 and 90 of Part VI
thereof shall come into force in the Out Islands of the Colony
with effect from the 1st day of January 1961.
2. The provisions of the following Acts or parts thereof are
hereby repealed in the manner specified with effect from the 1st
day of January 1961.
(a) The Taxi-cab Act (Ch. 314)
The Out Island Taxi-cab Act, 1957
The Taxi-cab Amendment Act 1957 in relation to the
whole Colony;
(b) The Motor Car Act (Ch. 311) in relation to the Out Is-
lands of the Colony;
(c) Sections 1, 2, 3(1)(a), 3(1)(c) 3(1)(e), 3(2), 3(3), 4, 5,
6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 and the Schedule of the
Motor Car Act (Ch. 311) in relation to the Island of
New Providence.

Made Under
THE BOARD OF WORKS ACT
(Ch. 9)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section
18(8) of the Boards of Works Act (Ch. 9) the Board of Works for
Harbour Island, with the approval of the Governor-in-Council,
hereby make the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Harbour Island Public
Dock Rules 1960.









2. In these Rules the expression:
"Board" means the Local Board of Works for Harbour
Island.
"Dock" means the Public dock at Harbour Island.
"Chairman" means the Chairman of the Local Board of
Works for Harbour Island.
"Harbour" means the harbour at Harbour Island.
3. There shall be charged, levied, collected and paid on
all boats which lie at the dock for a longer period than two
hours the following fees in respect of each boat:
(a) For over two hours and up to twelve hours in re-
spect of boats of all sizes six shillings;
(b) For any time exceeding twelve hours but not ex-
ceeding twenty-four hours in respect of boats up to
fifty feet in length twelve shillings;
(c) For any time exceeding twelve hours but not ex-
ceeding twenty-four hours in respect of boats over
fifty feet in length twenty shillings.
4. The Board shall appoint a fit and proper person to be
Dockmaster.
5. The Dockmaster's duties shall be as follows:
(a) To direct the docking of boats at the dock;
(b) To collect dockage fees, which fees shall be pay-
able when boats are ready to leave the dock;
(c) To institute proceedings in the name of the Board
against owners or captains of boats, as the case may
be, who refused to pay dockage fees within seven
(7) days of the date such fees are payable;
(d) To keep a proper account of all fees collected and
hand them over to the Chairman at least monthly;
(e) To keep the dock in a clean condition at all times;
(f) To answer to the Board in all matters related to
the dock.
6. All fees payable or recoverable under these Rules which
do not exceed the maximum amount recoverable in a summary
manner under the provisions of the Magistrates Act may be sued
for, recovered and enforced summarily before the Magistrate of
the Harbour Island District.
7. The Board may expend such monies collected under these
Rules for paying the Dockmaster's fees and on repairs and main-
tenance to the dock and its facilities.









8. The Chairman shall keep an account of the receipts and
expenditures of monies received by the Board under these Rules,
and at the end of each quarter forward to the Treasurer a tran-
script of such account.
9. The Dockmaster shall be paid a monthly salary to be de-
termined by the Board, and such salary shall not exceed thirty
percent nor less than ten percent of the total fees collected in any
one month.
Made by the Local Board of Works for Harbour Island this
twenty-eighth day of October, 1960.
