NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 47 dated the 6th day of February,
1960, and published in the Official Gazette dated the 6th day of
February 1960, the Governor in Council declared that it was his
intention to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
should be obtained by the promoters before payment is made to
the rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule
hereto
.NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the promoters mentioned in the
said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

Island delineated on a plan attached to Secretariat Minute Paper

six (276) Feet Easterly by land the property of E. C. Knowles
and running thereon Four hundred and Twenty (420) Feet

Applications are invited for the following vacant posts in
Government Departments.
CIVIL AVIATION (Accounts Section)
One (1) Timekeeper and Clerk (Male). Must be at least 21
years of age. Should hold the Bahamas Junior Certificate or its
equivalent. Applicants should be capable of driving a motor ve-
hicle. Previous experience and ability to type an advantage.
Salary in the range 450-970, per annum.
CUSTOMS
One (1) Assistant Comptroller, (Junior). Applicant must be
prepared to travel both in the Out Islands and U.S.A. Salary
1700 per annum.
One (1) Driver. Salary in the range of 390-540 per annum.
JUDICIAL
One (1) Messenger. Salary in the range of 190-390 per
annum.
ROAD TRAFFIC AUTHORITY.
Two (2) Supervisors. Salary in the range of 594-720 per
annum.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS
One (1) Male Clerk. Salary in the range of 450-670 per
annum.
Two (2) Male Night Clerks. These clerks wil be required to
work night shift from 11.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. and qrrmal clerical
working hours in alternate weeks. Salary in the range of
670-720 per annum.
TOWN PLANNING OFFICE (Public Works Department)
One (1) Town Planning Assistant. Applicants must hold the
Cambridge Certificate or equivalent. Must be competent
draughtsmen with a thorough knowledge of building construction
and have had at least three years' experience in an architect's or
engineer's office Salary in the range of 1050-1650 per annum.
