Applications are invited for two posts of inspector, (a) for the
inspection of English Teaching, and (b) for the inspection of the
reaching of Physical Education.
Qualifications required:-
Post (a): University Degree in English; Teacher's Certificate
or Diploma of a recognized Teachers' Training
College; experience in primary school teaching.
Post (b): Teacher's Certificate in Physical Education, or
Diploma in Physical Education of a recognized
Teachers' Training College; experience in primary
school teaching.
The persons selected will be appointed in the grade of Su-
pervisory Head Teachers, on the salary scale 1,400 x 50 to
1,650 per annum plus temporary allowance of 2%%.
They will be based in Nassau and will be required to carry
out inspections as required in New Providence and the Out Is-
lands. Quarters and rent allowance will not be provided.

The Road Traffic Authority will meet in the Magistrate's
Court situate on the second floor of the Central Police Station on

CANADIAN COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP
AND FELLOWSHIP PLAN
Under the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellow-
ship Plan, the Dominion of Canada offers for competition up to
125 scholarships tenable in the Canadian Universities for the
academic year 1961/62. The Bahamas have been allowed a small
number of these scholarships.
Scholarships are for two years. They are primarily for post-
graduate study, but may be held for undergraduate study for a
second degree. Scholarships are open to men and women under
35 years. Candidates must be normally resident in the Bahamas.
Further information may be obtained from the undersigned
with whom a personal interview should be arranged by telephone
(2878). No enquiries by post, except from Out Islands, will be
considered. Applications will close on 1st December, 1960.

EVENING INSTITUTES:
In collaboration with the Government High School, the
following programme in Further Education has been drawn
up.
During the Session 1960 61 there will be four Evening
Institutes in Nassau, offering classes as specified below:
1. Government High School: Classes for General Certificate
of Education (Ordinary and Advanced Levels), Cam-
bridge Overseas School Certificate and Cambridge
Higher School Certificate, and the examinations of the
Royal Society of Arts in Commercial Subjects.

2. Technical School Oakes Field: Classes for the examina-
tion of the City and Guilds of London Institute, in
Technical subjects including Engineering Science, En-
gineering Drawing, Practical Mathematics, Telecom-
munication Principles (A and B), Telecommunication
Mathematics (A and B).

3. Eastern Senior School: Classes for the Bahamas Junior
Certificate; adult classes in elementary English and
Arithmetic; persons who enrolled earlier this year in the

students will be accepted, and the class will end after
the Cambridge Examination in November, 1960.
