to be seconded to the post of Out Island Clerk with

Right Honourable the Secretary of State, for the Colonies that
Her Majesty The Queen will not be advised to exercise Her
power of disallowance with respect to the following Acts of the
Legislature of the Bahama Islands:-
No. 45 of 1959 The Town Planning Act 1959.
No. 46 of 1959 The Buildings Regulations Amendment Act
1959.

TENDERS FOR MAIL SERVICE


In accordance with the provision of the Inter-Insular Mails Act (Chapter 253), the Governor-
in-Council will consider tenders for the performance of the undermentioned Mail, Passenger and
Freight Services.
2. Sealed tenders addressed to the Colonial Secretary will be received at this office up to
noon on Saturday the 1st October, 1960.
3. Tenders must be on the printed form, copies of which can be obtained at the Office of
the Colonial Secretary where a form of contract can also be inspected and further particulars
obtained. A REPORT ON THE MAIL VESSEL, BY THE PILOTAGE BOARD, SHOULD
ACCOMPANY ALL TENDERS.
4. No tender will be accepted until the vessel has been favourably reported on by a com-
petent authority to the satisfaction of the Govcrnor-in-Council. Particular attention will be paid
co the condition of engine, sails, rigging, life saving and fire extinguishing appliances, boats etc.,
and to the provision of proper passenger and toilet accommodation.
5. Special consideration will be given to tenders proposing vessels which have steam or
other mechanical power.
6. The term of the contract will be for the period 1st January to 31st December, 1961.
7. If at any time the survey of a contract vessel is required by the Government the neces-
sary fees are to be borne by the contractors.
8. Out Island Commissioners travelling on duty or on transfer with their families and effects
must be transported free of charge.
9. Any motor vessel awarded a contract will be required to be fitted with properly con-
structed and ventilated tanks for the storage of gasoline or diesel oil required for her operation,
and these tanks should carry a sufficient quantity of fuel for each round trip. A reserve tank will
also be required to be installed for use in case of emergency. The vessel will also have to be
equipped with chemical sprays.
10. The attention of every person tendering for a contract for the carriage of mails is drawn
to the carrier services which will have to be performed by the contractor and paid for by the
contractor.
11. The right is reserved of rejecting the whole or any of the tenders.

In exercise of the powers vested in him by Article 55(1) of
the Colonial Air Navigation Order 1955 the Governor hereby
makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Air Navigation (Customs
Airports) Amendment Order 1960.









2. The Schedule to the Air Navigation (Customs Airports)
O.G. 1956 Page 131
Order 1956 is hereby amended by adding thereto the words
"Chub Cay: Seaplane and Landplane".
