THE ACQUISITION OF LAND (SPECIAL APPLICATION)
ACT 1957
(No. 21 of 1957)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 172 dated the 23rd day of July,
1960, and published in the Official Gazette dated the 23rd day
of July, 1960 the Governor in Council declared that it was his
intention to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that possession of the selected land should be obtained
by the Governor in Council before payment is made to the right-
ful claimants to the property described in the Schedule hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby declared that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the
purpose mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date
of this Notice.

RIGHT-OF-WAY NO. EI-415
All that certain tract or parcel of land situated northward of
the area known locally as Kemps Point on the Island of Eleuthera,
Colony of the Bahamas, British West Indies, as outlined on a
Map, File No. F 56 AI 4579, which by this reference is made a
part hereof, said tract or parcel of land being a fifty (50) foot
wide right-of-way, the centre line of which is more particularly
described as follows:
From a brass disc set in concrete which marks the point of
beginning of Tract No. EI-412, as previously described in that
said tract, go thence North 54 degrees 53 minutes East, 347.4
feet to the point of beginning of the centre line of the said fifty
(50) foot wide Right-of-Way No. EI-415.
From this point of beginning the centre line of Right-of-
Way No. EI-415 extends thence through land said to be in the
possession of Samuel James McGarry, land said to be in the pos-
session of Harold L. Norton, land said to be in the possession
of Joan Rosita McGrath and land said to be in the possession of
Robert Johnson North 22 degrees 52 minutes West 3286.3 feet
to a point on the southern boundary line of Tract No. EI-413,
which said point is located South 82 degrees 13 minutes East,
29.1 feet from a brass disc set in concrete which marks the point
of beginning of Tract No. EI-413 as previously described in that
said tract.

Importation for Some Temporary Purpose Under Paragraph
5 of the 4th Schedule to the Tariff Act
1. To avoid inconvenience and the possibility of paying full
duty on equipment and other articles imported for some tem-
porary purpose Under Paragraph 5 of the Fourth Schedule to
the Tariff Act, the following requirements, which will be rigidly
enforced, are published for your information:-
a. Application should be made to the Governor-in-Council
through this department stating full particulars, the pur-
pose for which imported, a complete list of equipment
with values and if obtainable locally.
b. Applicant must await decision of the Governor-in-Coun-
cil before importing equipment or articles.
c. If approval be given applicant must enter into a bond
as required by the paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to the
above requirements, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on the C.I.F. valuation.

Government Department.
MEDICAL DEPARTMENT:
Secretary to Chief Medical Officer. Shorthand and Typing
essential. Duties are of a confidential nature. Salary in the scale
1040/1390.
CIVIL AVIATION DEPARTMENT:
Five (5) Control Officers. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Should hold the Cambridge Senior Certificate or its equivalent.
Will be on three months' probation and training at a salary of
600 per annum. After completion of training will be graded
