Five (5) Control Officers. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Should hold the Cambridge Senior Certificate or its equivalent.
Will be on three months' probation and training at a salary of
600 p.a. After completion of training will be graded in at
salary 760/1390.
One (1) Male Clerk. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Should hold the Bahamas Junior Certificate or its equivalent.
Salary in scale of 450/1390.
One (1) Assistant Electrician. Salary in the scale 760/1390.

Under provisions of Section 24 (1) Part III of Chapter 39 of
1959 i.e. An Act to consolidate and amend the Law relating to the
General Assembly, and for other purposes connected therewith,
a copy of all the parts of the register relating to the Eastern,
Southern, Western and City Districts in New Providence and
known as the "August Register" is now open for inspection in
the office of the Parliamentary Registrar.

On Sunday, 10th July, 1960 at 6.00 p.m. the Police Band will
"Beat Retreat" on that portion of Bay Street, between East and
Parliament Streets.
For this purpose, Bay Street between East Street and Parlia-
ment Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5.45 p.m. until
after the ceremony. During this period, that portion of Shirley
Street between East Street and Parliament Street will be open
to two-way traffic.
Parliament Street will be open to North bound traffic and
East Street between Bay Street and Shirley Street will be open
to South bound traffic.
No parking will be allowed on:-
(a) That portion of Shirley Street between East and
Parliament Streets.
(b) East Street Slip.

The subjoined Order in Council made under The Town
Planning Act 1959 is published for general information.
M.P. 13168 E.
ORDER IN COUNCIL
Made Under
THE TOWN PLANNING ACT 1959
In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 4
of the Town Planning Act 1959, the Governor in Council hereby
makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Town Planning Zoning
X(No. 1) Order 1960.

2. It is hereby ordered as follows:
(a) Building upon that area of land described in the
First Schedule to this Order shall be permitted only
for use as dwelling houses and for purposes in-
cidental to the use of dwelling houses;
(b) Building upon that area of land described in the
Second Schedule to this Order shall be permitted
for educational purposes only.
3. For the purposes of this Order the term "dwelling
houses" shall exclude apartment houses, hotels and other multiple
unit buildings.
FIRST SCHEDULE
All that area of land situate in the Western District of New
Providence the boundaries of which commence at a point where
the western boundary of the property immediately east of the
Bahamas Country Club Golf Course on the north side of West
Bay Street produced northwards meets high water mark of or-
dinary tides to a point 200 feet northeast of the point of inter-
section of the northeast boundary of the property known as "The
Pink House" produced northwards and high water mark thence
southeasterly to the centre of West Bay Street thence south west-
erly along West Bay Street to a point where the eastern boundary
of the Golf Course produced southwards meets the centre line
of West Bay Street thence northerly along the eastern boundary
of the Golf Course to the intersection of this boundary produced
northerly and high water mark.
SECOND SCHEDULE
All those two pieces parcels or tracts of land situate in the
Western District of the Island of New Providence as outlined
on a plan attached to Secretariat Minute Paper No. 13168E,
which by this reference is made a part hereof, which said piece
parcels or tracts of land are edged purple on the said plan and
more particular described as follows:
TRACT No. 1
All that area of land the boundaries of which commence at
a point where the southern boundary of the property owned by
Caterpillar Limited produced eastwards meets the western side
of College Avenue thence northwesterly two hundred and three
feet (203') thence southwesterly four hundred and forty-eight feet
(448') thence southerly four hundred and forty-feet (440') to the
northern boundary of Moss Road thence easterly five hundred
and sixty feet (560') along the northern boundary of Moss Road
to the commencing point.
TRACT No. 2
And all that area of land the boundaries of which commence
at a point two hundred and thirty feet (230') south of the junction









of Farrington Road and Gregory Street on the western side of
Gregory Street thence westerly five hundred and ten feet (510')
thence southerly one thousand and twenty feet (1020) thence
southeasterly four hundred and fifteen feet (415') to the western
boundary of Gregory Street thence one thousand three hundred
and forty feet (1340') northerly along the western boundary of
Gregory Street to the commencing point.
