maximum number of self-drive vehicles licences to 600, such
rumber to comprise 500 motor vehicles and 100 motor cycles.
Before confirming this proposal the Authority will consider
any representations that may be made. Any person desirous
of making representations must do so in writing and send
such representations in duplicate to the Controller of Road
Traffic so as to reach him not later than 30th April, 1960.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY ELECTION FOR THE SOUTHERN
DISTRICT OF NEW PROVIDENCE
NOTICE OF ELECTION
1. An election is to be held of two (2) Members to serve in
the General Assembly for the said District.
2. Nomination papers may be delivered by the intending
candidates or by one of the subscribers thereto to the
Returning Officer at the Parliamentary Registration Of-
fice Trade Winds Building, Nassau between the hours
of nine in the morning and noon on Tuesday the 26th
day of April, 1960 being nomination day for the said Dis-
trict.
3. Forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the
Returning Officer at the place, date and times aforesaid,
or any day at the office of the Parliamentary Registrar
in Nassau during office hours. The Returning Officer
will at the request of any person registered as a voter for
the said District prepare a nomination paper for signa-
ture.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY ELECTION FOR THE EASTERN
DISTRICT OF NEW PROVIDENCE
NOTICE OF ELECTION
1. An election is to be held of two (2) Members to serve
in the General Assembly for the said District.
2. Nomination papers may be delivered by the intending
candidates or by one of the subscribers thereto to the
Returning Officer at the Parliamentary Registration Of-
fice Trade Winds Building, Nassau between the hours of
nine in the morning and noon on Tuesday the 26th day
of April 1960, being nomination day for the said District.
3. Forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the
Returning Officer at the place, date and times aforesaid,
or any day at the office of the Parliamentary Registrar
in Nassau during office hours. The Returning Officer will
at the request of any person registered as a voter for the
said District prepare a nomination paper for signature.
4. If the election is contested, the Poll will take place on
the 20th day of May, 1960.

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in
Council by section 4(1) of the Tariff Act, 1959, the following
Order is hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Importation of Trailer
(Jewfish Cay) Order, 1960.
2. It shall be lawful for Mr. Arnold Bernhard to import
into the Colony via a Port of Entry a trailer to be used for
living purposes: Provided that such trailer shall be sent from

such Port of Entry directly to Jewfish Cay and remain in the
Colony for such time only as shall be necessary for Mr. Bernhard
to construct a permanent residence at Jewfish Cay.

Knowles (Tenure of Office Extension) Order, 1960.
2. The tenure of office of Commissioner V. A. Knowles in
the district of Long Island is hereby extended as from the 19th
day of September, 1960, for one year.
