NOTICE OF INTENTION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
for a public purpose.
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council to acquire on
behalf of the promoters, the Board of Education, the said land
for a public purpose to wit: for the purpose of erecting thereon
a teacher's cottage.
ALL persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim to
compensation for such interests.

(172) feet, thence southwesterly bounded by other portion of the
same property for One hundred and Seventy (170) feet, thence
westerly for One hundred and Seventy-two (172) feet to the other
of the above-mentioned public roads thence northwesterly along
this public road for One hundrel and Seventy (170) feet to the
point of commencement.

BOARD OF EDUCATION CONTINUATION CLASSES
IN
DOMESTIC SCIENCE
SOUTHERN SENIOR SCHOOL
On Wednesday 9th March, 1960 at 6.00 p.m., a new course of
lectures will commence at the Board of Education Continuation
Classes in Domestic Science which are conducted in the South-
ern Senicr School Domestic Science Room. This course of lec-
tures is open to all interested persons. Intending students should
enroll at the Southern Senior School on Wednesday the 9th of
March at 6.00 p.m., the date of the first lecture. The fee for this
course of lectures is 1.
The course of lectures will include the following topics:-
1. Yeast mixtures including breads, cinnamon buns, hot
cross buns and coffee rings.
2. Pressure cooking.
3. Use of kitchen electrical appliances including frying
pans, skillets, toasters and mixers.
4. Supper dishes.


COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP PLAN-
TECHNICAL TEACHER TRAINING
The Board of Education invites applications for Scholarships
to pursue the following courses of Technical Teacher Training be-
ginning September, 1960.
1. One year courses for students who have already acquired
a technical qualification (such as a degree in engineering
or a full Technological City and Guilds Certificate) which
meets the normal entry requirements for a course leading
to qualified teacher's status;
2. courses lasting for more than one but not more than
two years for students with lesser technical qualifications
(such as an Intermediate City and Guilds Certificate) who
want to reach minimum standards and who will then take
a course of full professional training leading to qualified
teacher status;
3. one year courses for students with lesser technical quali-
fications, or perhaps no formal qualifications at all, who
want courses which will strengthen their technical or
craft knowledge and will also provide some professional
training.
In each case the applicant should hold at least a good, Cam-
bridge School Certificate or its equivalent and should have some
knowledge of a specified technical subject.

Scholarships will be tenable in Britain for the periods stated
and should entitle the holders to fares to and from the United
Kingdom, tuition and examination fees, a personal allowance and
grants for books and clothing.

RULES
Made Under
THE WATER AND SEWERAGE ACT
(Chapter 10)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 35
of the Water and Sewerage Act (Ch. 10) the Public Board of
Works for New Providence with the approval of the Governor in
Council hereby make the following Rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Water Supply Amend-
ment Rules 1960.
O.G. 1953 page 184A
2. The Water Supply Rules are hereby amended by adding
after rule 26 thereof the following heading and rule:
"IIIA. SPRINKLER SYSTEMS
26A. The Board may instal fire fighting sprinkler
systems at the following rates:
(a) for the first forty (40) sprinklers in any sprinkler
system per sprinkler per annum.............. 5/-
(b) for every additional sprinkler in excess of forty (40)
in any sprinkler system per annum .......... 2/6.
Provided:
(1) the minimum charge for any sprinkler system shall
be 5. 0. 0 per annum; and
(2) the Board shall in no case grant a larger service
connection than a 4" diameter pipe connection.
Made by the Public Board of Works for New Providence
this 27th day of February, 1960.

following Order is hereby made:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Industries Encourage-
ment Order No. 2 of 1960.
2. The Industries Encouragement Order No. 2 of 1952 is
hereby revoked.
