The following staff movements are notified for general in-
formation:-
LEAVE
Honourable K. M. Walmsley, C.M.G., O.B.E., Colonial Secretary,
four weeks vacation leave with effect from the 23rd
February, 1960, to be followed by four weeks leave on

Mr. G. L. Lowe, Cashier, one week and six days vacation leave
with effect from the 22nd February, 1960. M.P. P.9.

His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the Right
Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies that Her Ma-
jesty The Queen will not be advised to exercise Her power of dis-
allowance with respect to the following Act of the Legislature
of the Bahama Islands:-
No. 68 of 1959 The Pensions Amendment Act 1959.
2. His Excellency directs that the above-mentioned Act shall
come into operation as on and from the 3rd September, 1959.

The subjoined Notice of Possession given under The Acqui-
sition of Land Act (Chapter 254) is published for general informa-
tion.

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 40 dated the 30th day of January
1960 and published in the Official Gazette dated the 30th day of
January, 1960 the Governor in Council declared that it was his
intention to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto.
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that possession of the selected land should be obtained
by the Governor in Council before payment is made to the right-
ful claimant to the property described in the Schedule hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby declared that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the
purpose mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date
of this Notice.
Dated the 19th day of February, 1960.

SCHEDULE
All those 5 parcels or tracts of land situate in the Eastern
District of New Providence as outlined on a plan attached to Sec-
retariat Minute Paper No. 15962, which by this reference is made
a part hereof, and which said 5 parcels or tracts of land are
described as follows:-

Tract No. 1
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads at a point and running thereon
along Bernard Road one hundred and twenty feet (120') more or
less to a point of commencement. Running thereon in a south
easterly direction for a distance of fifty-three feet (53') more or
less, thence along in a south easterly direction and running there-
on eight hundred and eighteen point five feet (818.5') more or
less, turning at a point in a south westerly direction and running
thereon fifty-five feet (55') more or less, bounded on the east by
Bernard Road, thence along in a north westerly direction and run-
ning thereon two hundred and thirty feet (230') more or less, turn-
ing in a north westerly direction and running thereon six hundred
and ten feet (610') more or less back to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of twenty thousand five hundred and thirty-five
(20,535 sq. ft.) square feet more or less. Coloured Pink on the
above mentioned plan.
Tract No. 2
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads and running thereon along Bernard
Road forty-six feet (46.0') more or less to a point of commence-
ment. Running in a north eastwardly direction and running there-
on fifteen feet (15.0') more or less, thereon along in a south east-
wardly direction and running thereon one hundred and seventy-
four feet (174') more or less. Turning at a point in a north west-
wardly direction and running thereon one hundred and seventy-
five feet (175') more or less back to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of eleven hundred and forty-nine point five square
feet (1149.5 sq. ft.) more or less.

Tract No. 3
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads and running thereon along Bern-
ard Road four hundred and ninety-nine point five feet (499.5')
more or less to a point of commencement. Running in a south
eastwardly direction and running thereon two hundred and
twenty-three feet (223.0') more or less, bounded on the north by
the existing Bernard Road, thence along in a south westwardly
direction and running thereon fifteen feet (15.0') more or less,
turning at a point and running in a north westerly direction for
a distance of two hundred and eight feet (208') more or less back
to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of seven hundred and sixty-three square feet (763
sq. ft.) more or less.
Tract No. 4
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads and running thereon along Bernard
Road one thousand and twenty-six point six feet (1026.6') more
or less to a point of commencement. Running thereon in a north
easterly direction for a distance of fifty-five feet (55') more or less,
thence along in a south easterly direction and running thereon
three hundred and two feet (302') more or less continuing in a
south easterly direction and running thereon two hundred and five
feet (205') more or less, bounded on the north by Bernard Road,
turning in a north westerly direction and running thereon one
hundred and fifty feet (150') more or less continuing in a north
westerly direction and running thereon three hundred and two
feet (302') more or less back to a point of commencement.

All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of sixteen thousand five hundred and sixty square
feet (16,560 sq. ft.) more or less. Coloured Blue on the above men-
tioned plan.
Tract No. 5
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol.
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads at a point and running thereon
along Bernard Road one thousand five hundred and twenty-eight
point two feet (1,528.2') more or less to a point of commencement.
Running thereon in a south easterly direction for a distance of
one hundred and sixty-nine feet (169') more or less, thence along
in a south westerly direction and running thereon fifteen feet (15')
more or less, turning at a point in a north westerly direction and
running thereon one hundred and seventy feet (170') more or less.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of four hundred and sixty-two square feet (462.0
s. ft.) more or less. Coloured Green on the above mentioned

2. The Schedule to the Ports of Entry (Amendment) Order
1952 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the words "Long
Cay"
