sition of Land Act (Ch. 254) is published for general information.

NOTICE OF INTENTION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Ch. 254)
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is re-
quired for a public purpose.
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council to acquire the
said land for a public purpose, to wit: for the purpose of straight-
ening a portion of Bernard Road.
All persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim to
compensation for such interests.
Dated the 30th day of January, 1960.

Schedule
All those 5 parcels or tracts of land situate in the Eastern
District of New Providence as outlined on a plan attached to Sec-
retariat Minute Paper No. 15962, which by this reference is made
a part hereof, and which said 5 parcels or tracts of land are
described as follows:-

Tract No. 1
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads at a point and running thereon
along Bernard Road one hundred and twenty feet (120') more or
less to a point of commencement. Running thereon in a south
easterly direction for a distance of fifty-three feet (53') more or
less, thence along in a south easterly direction and running there-
on eight hundred and eighteen point five feet (818.5') more or
less, turning at a point in a south westerly direction and running
thereon fifty-five feet (55') more or less, bounded on the east by
Bernard Road, thence along in a north westerly direction and run-
ning thereon two hundred and thirty feet (230') more or less, turn-
ing in a north westerly direction and running thereon six hundred
and ten feet (610') more or less back to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of twenty thousand five hundred and thirty-five
(20,535 sq. ft.) square feet more or less. Coloured Pink on the
above mentioned plan.

Tract No. 2
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads and running thereon along Bernard
Road forty-six feet (46.0') more or less to a point of commence-
ment. Running in a north eastwardly direction and running there-
on fifteen feet (15.0') more or less, thereon along in a south east-
wardly direction and running thereon one hundred and seventy-
four feet (174') more or less. Turning at a point in a north west-
wardly direction and running thereon one hundred and seventy-
five feet (175') more or less back to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of eleven hundred and forty-nine point five square
feet (1149.5 sq. ft.) more or less.
Tract No. 3
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads and running thereon along Bern-
ard Road four hundred and ninety-nine point five feet (499.5')
more or less to a point of commencement. Running in a south
eastwardly direction and running thereon two hundred and
twenty-three feet (223.0') more or less, bounded on the north by
the existing Bernard Road, thence along in a south westwardly
direction and running thereon fifteen feet (15.0') more or less,
turning at a point and running in a north westerly direction for
a distance of two hundred and eight feet (208') more or less back
to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of seven hundred and sixty-three square feet (763
sq. ft.) more or less.
Tract No. 4
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads and running thereon along Bernard
Road one thousand and twenty-six point six feet (1026.6') more
or less to a point of commencement. Running thereon in a north
easterly direction for a distance of fifty-five feet (55') more or less,
thence along in a south easterly direction and running thereon
three hundred and two feet (302') more or less continuing in a
south easterly direction and running thereon two hundred and five
feet (205') more or less, bounded on the north by Bernard Road,
turning in a north westerly direction and running thereon one
hundred and fifty feet (150') more or less continuing in a north
westerly direction and running thereon three hundred and two
feet (302') more or less back to a point of commencement.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of sixteen thousand five hundred and sixty square
feet (16,560 sq. ft.) more or less. Coloured Blue on the above men-
tioned plan.
Tract No. 5
Beginning in the centre line of the junction of Village, Sol-
dier, Wulff and Bernard Roads at a point and running thereon
along Bernard Road one thousand five hundred and twenty-eight
point two feet (1,528.2') more or less to a point of commencement.
Running thereon in a south easterly direction for a distance of
one hundred and sixty-nine feet (169') more or less, thence along
in a south westerly direction and running thereon fifteen feet (15')
more or less, turning at a point in a north westerly direction and
running thereon one hundred and seventy feet (170') more or less.
All the above bearings and distances described herein, en-
closes an area of four hundred and sixty-two square feet (462.0
sq. ft.) more or less. Coloured Green on the above mentioned
plan.

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 30 dated the 23rd day of January,
1960, and published in the Official Gazette dated the 23rd day of
January 1960, the Governor in Council declared that it was his
intention on behalf of the promoters the Board of Education to
acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
should be obtained by the promoters before payment is made
to the rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule
hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the promoters mentioned in the
said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

All that piece parcel or lot of land situate in the settlement
of Upper Bogue, Eleuthera and bounded on the West by land
the property of Aaron Blatch and running thereon One Hundred

WHEREAS by Notice No. 31 dated the 23rd day of January,
1960, and published in the Official Gazette dated the 23rd day
of January, 1960 the Governor in Council declared that it was
his intention to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto

AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that possession of the selected land should be obtained
by the Governor in Council before payment is made to the right-
ful claimant to the property described in the Schedule hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby declared that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the
purpose mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date
of this Notice.

TRACT NO. SS-517
All that certain tract or parcel of land situated in the vicinity
of Bonefish Bay Point on the Island of San Salvador, Colony of
the Bahamas, as outlined on a map, File No. F-57A14719, which
by this reference is made a part hereof and more particularly
described as follows:
From a brass disc set in concrete at the northeast corner of
Tract No. SS-504, as previously described in that said tract, which
is the point of beginning of Tract No. SS-517, the boundaries of
Tract No. SS-517 extend thence along the common boundary be-
tween Track No. SS-504 and land said to be in the possession of
H. G. Christie North 46 degrees 50 minutes West, 358.8 feet to
a brass disc set in concrete on the southeastern boundary of the
Main Public Road (known as Limestone Road); thence along the
southeastern boundary of the said Main Public Road North 39
degrees 24 minutes East, 315.1 feet to a brass disc set in concrete;
thence leaving the southeastern boundary of the said Main Pub-
lic Road and extend through land said to be in the possession of
H. G. Christie, South 46 degrees 51 minutes East, 397.6 feet to a
brass disc set in concrete on the common boundary between land
said to be in the possession of H. G. Christie and land said to
be in the possession of the Roman Catholic Mission of the Ba-
hamas; thence along the said common boundary between land
said to be in the possession of H. G. Christie and land said to be
in the possession of the Roman Catholic Mission of the Bahamas,
South 46 degrees 28 minutes West, 315.0 feet back to the point of
beginning and containing 2.7 acres, more or less.
The foregoing notices numbered 35 to 42 are published by
command.

OLD AGE PENSIONERS
Old Age Pensioners residing in the vicinity of Sandilands are
advised that their pensions for the month of January, 1960 will
be paid at the Jungle Club, Fox Hill, on Friday the 5th February,
1960, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2. Other Old Age Pensioners are advised that pension for
the month of January, 1960 will be paid at the British Legion
Hall on Blue Hill Road on Monday the 1st February, Tuesday
the 2nd February, Wednesday the 3rd February, and Thursday
the 4th February, 1960.

Made Under Section 34 of the Water and Sewerage Act
Chapter 10
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Public Board
of Works for New Providence by section 35 of the Water and
Sewerage Act Chapter 10 the following Rules are with the ap-
proval of the Governor in Council hereby made:-
Short Title
Y 1. These Rules may be cited as the Sewerage Rules, 1960.

UNITS.


Classification of House Fixtures
2. House fixtures shall be classified in units as follows:-

1. Bath Tub, with or without shower 2 units.
2. Shower Bath 2 units.
3. Water Closet 2 units.
4. Lavatory 1 unit.
5. Urinal 1 unit.
6. Bidet 1 unit.
7. Slop Sink 1 unit.
8. Kitchen Sink 1 unit.
9. Laundry Sink 1 unit.

RATES
Sewerage Rate per Unit
3. The sewerage rate in respect of any unit shall be two
shillings per unit per quarter:
Provided that:
(1) In the case of hotels and boarding houses the rate shall
be eight pence per unit per month or any part thereof;
(2) the rate for a hotel or boarding house rated under (1)
shall be not less than Ten Pounds per annum;
(3) no rate shall be charged or paid in respect of any hotel
or boarding house when such hotel or boarding house is closed
for twelve consecutive months;
(4) other premises which are unoccupied for six consecutive
months or more shall pay one-half the appropriate rate while
they remain so unoccupied.
Commencement
4. These Rules shall be deemed to have come into opera-
tion on the 1st day of January, 1960.

Council by section 8 of the Airports Board Act (Ch. 12) the fol-
lowing Order is hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Airports Board Act
(Amendment) Order, 1960.
2. The First Schedule to the Airports Board Act (Ch. 12)
is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
"Airstrip-Green Turtle Cay, Abaco.
Airstrip-Northern Eleuthera".
3. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of
February, 1960.
