Saturday, 26th December, 1959 and Friday, 1st January, 1960.
No person will be allowed to take part in the Junkanoo Pa-
rades, held in that. portion of Bay Street which is closed to
vehicular traffic, unless such person is in uniform or costume of a
type associated with Junkanoo Parades. If is also notified that
the wearing of decorative headgear and a mask only will not be
deemed to constitute either a uniform or a costume.

WHEREAS by Notice No. 269 dated the 5th day of Decem-
ber 1959, and publishedjrr the Official Gazettedatgd-thr5tdi gs
December, 1959 the Governor in Council declared that it was his.
intention to acquire on behalf of the Promoters, the Public Board
of Works-for New -Providence the land described in-the-Schedule-

AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that possession of the selected land should be obtained
by the Governor in Council before payment is made to the right-
ful claimant to the property described in the Schedule hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby declared that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Promoters for the purpose
mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date of this
Notice." '

For the convenience of importers of air express cargo, effec-
tive as from Wednesday the 9th December, 1959, a window will
be opened at the Custom House, Rawson Square where Airway
Bills and Declarations can be presented and checked.
This would obviate the necessity of an additional journey to
Windsor Field in the event of an error. Payment of duties will
continue at Windsor Field.

The Post Office Department is making every effort to ex-
pedite the delivery of all incoming foreign and local mails, sent
by your family and friends for Christmas.
Therefore, will Members of the Public, as soon as a notice
is received for a registered letter, duty package, parcel, etc..
please present such notice at the office specified thereon, as early
as possible.
Merchants are requested to present certified invoices, to-
gether with relative notices for goods, received by parcel post,
at least 24 hours in advance of the date on which it is proposed
to take delivery of such parcels.
This procedure will enable the postal clerks to locate such
parcels, calculate the Customs duties and other charges due on
the goods contained therein, thus ensuring the minimum of delav
at the time of delivery.

TRAINING OF JOURNALISTS
The Regent Street Polytechnic, London, are willing to allo-
cate a number of places to students from overseas territories in
their 1960-61 diploma course in Journalism..
2. The qualifications and conditions for admission are the
