NOTICE OF INTENTION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)

WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
for a public purpose.

NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council to acquire the
said land for a public purpose to wit:
for the purpose of erecting thereon a school.

All persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim
to compensation for such interests.

TENDERS FOR MAKING, ALTERING AND REPAIRING
POLICE UNIFORMS

Tenders are invited for making, altering and repairing Po-
lice unoforms for the year commencing 1st January, 1960.
Patterns of uniforms can be seen at Police Headquarters.
Persons tendering will be required to submit the names of
two responsible sureties willing to be bound for the due fulfil-
ment of the Contract. The sureties must sign the tender.
Sealed envelopes addressed to the Commissioner of Police
and marked "TENDER FOR UNIFORM" must be delivered at
Police Headquarters not later than 12 o'clock noon on Saturday
12th December, 1959.
The right is reserved to reject any or the whole of the tender.
Forms for tender can be obtained at Police Headquarters.
The Contractor will be required to provide a ten shilling
stamp to be fixed to the Agreement.

THE PENSIONS ACT
(Chapter 365)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in
Council by Section 4 of The Pensions Act the following Order is
hereby made:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Margaret Batchelder Pen-
sion Order, 1959.








2. A reduced Pension at the rate of Sixty-three Pounds Five
Shillings and Eight Pence (63-5-8) per annum as from the 18th
May, 1959, together with a Gratuity in the amount of Two Hun-
dred and Ten Pounds Eighteen Shillings and Four Pence
(210-18-4) are hereby granted to Margaret Batchelder.

annum as from the 30th October, 1959, together with a Gratuity
in the amount of Seven Hundred and Thirty-one Pounds Five
Shillings (731-5-0) are hereby granted to James Richard Lowe,
Junior.

(No. 60 of 1957)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in
Council by Section 2 of The James Richard Lowe, Junior, Pen-
sion Act 1957 the following Order is hereby made:-









1. This Order may be cited as the James Richard Lowe,
Junior, Pension Order (No. 2) 1959.
2. A reduced Pension at the rate of One Hundred and
Seventy-five Pounds Ten Shillings (175-10-0) per annum as from
the 30th October, 1959, together with a Gratuity in the amount of
Five Hundred and Eighty-five Pounds (585-0-0) are hereby
granted to James Richard Lowe, Junior.

The subjoined Rules made under The Boards of Works Act,
Chapter 9, are published for general information.

RULES
Made Under
THE BOARDS OF WORKS ACT
(Chapter 9)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section
18 of The Boards of Works Act, the Public Board of Works for
New Providence with the approval of the Governor in Council
hereby make the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as The Public Board of Works
for New Providence Amendment Rules 1959, and shall be read
as one with The Public Board of Works for New Providence
Rules, 1934 (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Rules) as
amended by any Rules for the time being in force.
O.G. 1934 P. 332.
2. The principal Rules are hereby amended by deleting the
heading to Rule 4A and substituting therefore the following:
"The removal of rubbish and other like substances and
the cutting of bush on privately owned premises."
3. Sub-rule (1) of Rule 4A is hereby amended as follows:
(a) by deleting the full stop at the end thereof and sub-
stituting therefore a comma; and
(b) by adding thereto the words "and when required
by the Board, shall cut the bush which may be grow-
ing on such premises within 25 feet from any ad-
jacent property and within 10 feet of any public
road."
4. Sub-rule (3) of Rule 4A is hereby deleted and the follow-
ing substituted therefore:
"(3) Where on inspection or complaint, a breach of this
rule is found to exist, an Order signed by the Director of








Public Works requiring the removal of rubbish and other
like substances and/or the cutting of any bush which may
be growing on the premises shall be served on the owner
or occupier of the premises, as the case may be, and all
such Orders shall state the time within which the prem-
ises shall be cleaned."
