NOTICE OF PUBLIC SURVEY No. 5
Crown Lands Office,
Nassau, Bahamas,
15th August, 1959.
The Public is hereby notified that under the provisions of the
Public Survey Protection Act (Chapter 28) the following de-
scribed Survey is certified to be a Public Survey within the
meaning of the said Act:
THE SURVEY FOR THE PROPER MAPPING of
the Island of Grand Bahama, one of the said Bahama
Islands, the Island of Great Abaco, another of the said
Bahama Islands, and the Island of Little Abaco, an,
other of the said Bahama Islands, and also all the
other Islands, Cays, Rocks, and Islets which are situ-
ated in the Little Bahama Bank of the said Bahama
Islands and which lie to the North of the Northwest
Providence Channel and to the East of the Florida
Straits and are shown on the United States Hydro-
graphic Chart No. 0026e WHICH SAID SURVEY
SHALL COMPRISE ALL SUCH SURVEYS AS ARE
NECESSARY for the establishment of Horizontal and
Vertical Ground Control and shall include all Geo-
detic and Framework Surveys and all Trigonometric-
al, Topographic and Cadastral Surveys as are requir-
ed in connection with the proper mapping for and
on behalf of the Bahamas Government of the said Is-
lands of Grand Bahama, Great Abaco and Little Aba-
co and the said other Islands, Cays, Rocks and Islets
which are situated in the said Little Bahama Bank of
the Bahama Islands;
AND this Public Survey shall hereafter be known as PUBLIC
SURVEY No. 5.
Certified at Nassau, New Providence, this 15th day of Au-
gust A.D., 1959.

The annual Entrance Examination for admission to THE
GOVERNMENT HIGH SCHOOL will be held on Saturday, the
17th of October, 1959. At the same time the examination will
be held for the award of New Providence Scholarships and Out
Island Scholarships, as well as a Student Teacher place.
Pupils, now attending private schools or under private tu-
ition, who wish to enter the examination for entrance or scholar-
ships should make application in person to the Head Master of
The High School not later than the 30th of September. Pupils
now attending Board Schools make their application for entry
through the Heads of the schools they now attend.
Applications will be considered for admission to the higher
Forms of The School including the two-year Higher School Cer-
tificate Course and the one-year Commercial Course but pupils
will not be admitted to these latter courses unless they have ob-
tained a good School Certificate. Such candidates for admission
should make personal application to the Head Master.
This examination will be the only one held for entry to Gov-
ernment High School in 1960.
No candidate can be admitted to the examination who will
not have attained the age of eleven on the 31st of December,
1959.

Applications are invited for the posts of two Out Island Com-
missioners. Salary will be in Schedule 7 (760 x 70 1390), ac-
cording to qualifications and experience. Qualification below the
Cambridge Senior or its equivalent will not be considered. The
suggested age limit is from 27 to 40 inclusive. The highest ref-
erence of character will be required.

Governor-in-Council is satisfied that the machinery or equipment
is not already available to the applicant within a reasonable dis-
tance of the place where it is to be used.
Application must be made to the Comptroller prior to im-

OLD AGE PENSIONERS
Old Age Pensioners residing in the vicinity of Sandilands are
advised that their pensions for the month of August, 1959 will
be paid at the Jungle Club, Fox Hill, on Thursday the 3rd Sep-
tember, 1959 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2. Other Old Age Pensioners are advised that pension for the
month of August, 1959 will be paid at the British Legion Hall on
Blue Hill Road on Monday the 31st August, Tuesday the 1st Sep-
tember, and Wednesday the 2nd September, 1959.
3. Pensioners whose surnames begin with the letters A-G
should attend on Monday, those whose surnames begin with the
letters H-Q on Tuesday, and those whose surnames begin with
the letters R-Z on Wednesday.

Made Under
THE COLONIAL AIR NAVIGATION ORDER 1955
In exercise of the powers vested in him by Article 52 of the
Colonial Air Navigation Order, 1955, the Governor hereby makes
the following Regulations:
1. These regulations may be cited as the Landing and Ac-
commodation Fees (Nassau International Airport) Amendment
(No. 2) Regulations, 1959 and shall be read and construed as one








with the Landing and Accommpdation Fees (Nassau International
Airport) Regulations,. 1958.

2. The Landing and Accommodation Fees (Nassau Interna-
tional Airport) Regulations, 1958 are hereby amended as follows:
(a) By deleting therefrom the First Schedule and substitut-
ing therefore the following:

(c) by deleting from Note 5 the figures and word "3 and 4";
and
(d) by renumbering Notes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12

3. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into
effect as from the 1st day of August, 1959.
