TRAFFIC NOTICE
On Friday 14th August, 1959, the Police Band will "Beat
Retreat" on that portion of Bay Street, between East and Parlia-
ment Streets.
For this purpose Bay Street, between East Street and Parlia-
ment Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5.45 p.m. to
6.45 p.m. During this period that portion of Shirley Street be-
tween East Street and Parliament Street will be open to two way
traffic.
Parliament Street will be open to North bound traffic and
East Street between Bay Street and Shirley Street, will be open
to South bound traffic. East Street Slip will be open to North
and South bound traffic. No Parking will be allowed on:
(a) That portion of Shirley Street between East and Parlia-
ment Streets.
(b) East Street Slip.

Public Survey Protection Act (Chapter 28) the following de-
scribed Survey is certified to be a Public Survey within the
meaning of the said Act:
THE SURVEY FOR THE PROPER MAPPING of
the Island of Grand Bahama, one of the said Bahama
Islands, the Island of Great Abaco, another of the said
Bahama Islands, and the Island of Little Abaco, an-
other of the said Bahama Islands, and also all the
other Islands, Cays, Rocks, and Islets which are situ-
ated in the Little Bahama Bank of the said Bahama
Islands and which lie to the North of the Northwest
Providence Channel and to the East of the Florida
Straits and are shown on the United States Hydro-
graphic Chart No. 0026e WHICH SAID SURVEY
SHALL COMPRISE ALL SUCH SURVEYS AS ARE
NECESSARY for the establishment of Horizontal and
Vertical Ground Control and shall include all Geo-
detic and Framework Surveys and all Trigonometric-
al, Topographic and Cadastral Surveys as are requir-
ed in connection with the proper mapping for and
on behalf of the Bahamas Government of the said Is-
lands of Grand Bahama, Great Abaco and Little Aba-
co and the said other Islands, Cays, Rocks and Islets
which are situated in the said Little Bahama Bank of
the Bahama Islands;
AND this Public Survey shall hereafter be known as PUBLIC
SURVEY No. 5.
Certified at Nassau, New Providence, this 15th day of Au-

THE SUPREME COURT RULES
Made Under
THE SUPREME COURT ACT
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Chief Justice
by section 41 of the Supreme Court Act the following rules are
hereby made:-
1. These rules may be cited as the Supreme Court Amend-
ment (Consular Notation) Rules, 1959.
2. Rule 325 of the Supreme Court Rules is hereby cancelled
X and the following substituted therefor:-

Rule 325 (1) All examinations, affidavits, declarations and
affirmations in causes or matters depending in
the Supreme Court may be sworn and taken
in England, Scotland or Ireland or the Chan-
nel Islands, or in any colony, island, plantation
or place under the dominion of Her Majesty in
foreign parts, before any Court, Judge, notary
public, or person lawfully authorised to ad-
minister oaths in such country, colony, island,
plantation or place respectively, or before any
of Her Majesty's consuls in any foreign parts
out of Her Majesty's dominions; and the Judge
and other officers of the Supreme Court shall
take judicial notice of the seal or signature, as
the case may be, of any such Court, Judge,
notary public, person or consul, attached, ap-
pended, or subscribed to any such examina-
tions, affidavits, affirmations and declarations:
Provided that where there is no such con-
sul in the particular place in the foreign part
out of Her Majesty's dominions in which the
examination, affidavit, declaration or affirma-
tion is to be sworn and taken then the docu-
ment may be sworn and taken before any
Court, Judge, notary public or other person
legally authorised to administer oaths or take
acknowledgments in such place and the official
character of the officer before whom the said
document is sworn and taken or the official
standing of the person who attests or certifies
the official character of such officer shall be
verified by such consul.
(2) In this rule the expression "Her Majesty's
Consul" means a consul general, consul, vice-
consul, pro-consul and consular agent, an act-
ing consul general, acting consul, acting vice-
consul and an acting consular agent.

Made Under
THE OLD AGE PENSION ACT 1957.
In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 22
of the Old Age Pension Act 1957, the Governor in Council hereby
makes the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Old Age Pension Amend-
ment Rules 1959.
2. Rule 4 of the Old Age Pension Rules, 1957, is hereby
amended by deleting the full stop at the end thereof and adding
thereto the following proviso:
: Provided that for good cause shown by an aged per-
son or an agent acting for an aged person, as the case
may be, payment may be claimed at any time within
six months from the 15th of the month following that
in which it becomes due.
Made by the Governor in Council this 12th day of August,
1959.

1952 is hereby amended by adding thereto the words "Freeport,
Grand Bahama."
