Made Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Ch. 254)
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
for a public purpose
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council on behalf of
the Promoters, The Public Board of Works for New Providence,
to acquire the said land for a public purpose to wit: for the
purpose of constructing a Public Road thereon.
ALL persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim
to compensation for such interests.

HET DEBENTURES 1952-66
Holders of Hospital, Electricity and Telephone Loan
Debentures issued on 1st August, 1951, are notified that in ac-
cordance with the provisions of the Loan Acts and the Prospectus
issued on 1st June, 1951, from the Colonial Secretary's Office,
there will be on the 6th August, 1959, a drawing by lot of Deben-
tures to be redeemed. The amount of Debentures to be drawn
will be 34,600.
2. Any holder of the above Debentures may be present at
the drawing which will be held at the Public Treasury at 10.00
a.m. on the morning of the day named above.

The subjoined Order in Council made under The Magistrates
Act (Ch. 64) is published for general information.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Made Under
THE MAGISTRATES ACT
(Ch. 64)
WHEREAS by Section 10 of the Magistrates Act the Gov-
ernor in Council may by Order in Council nominate any Justice
of the Peace, and empower him to try cases singly within the
limits of any district or area to be defined by the Order during
the period to be specified in such Order:

NOW THEREFORE the Governor in Council in exercise of
the powers vested in him by the said section 10 of the Magis-
trates Act hereby nominates Mr. Paul Henry Bethel, Justice of
the Peace, to try cases singly in the City of Nassau, Bahamas.
This Order shall come into force on the 13th day of July,
1959, and shall expire on the 7th day of November, 1959.
