treat" on that portion of Bay Street, between East and Parlia-
ment Streets.
For this purpose Bay Street, between East Street and Parlia-
ment Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5.45 p.m. to
8.45 p.m. During this period that portion of Shirley Street be-
tween East Street and Parliament Street will be open to two way
traffic.
Parliament Street will be open to North bound traffic and
East Street between Bay Street and Shirley Street, will be open
to South bound traffic. East Street Slip will be open to North
and South bound traffic. No Parking will be allowed on:

Candidates for these posts must have had considerable ex-
perience of accounts. Others need not apply. For satisfactory
and provable experience, a good salary in Scale 5 up to 1,080
p.a. is offered.

the Public Survey Protection Act 1951 (Chapter 28) the following
described Survey is certified to be a Public Survey within the
meaning of the said Act:
THE SURVEY FOR THE PROPER MAPPING of the
Island of Cat Island, one of the Bahama Islands, and
also of all the Cays, Rocks and Islets situate in the
vicinity of and adjacent to the said Island of Cat Island
(including Little San Salvador Island, Goat Island and
Long Rocks), WHICH SAID SURVEY SHALL COM-
PRISE ALL SUCH SURVEYS AS ARE NECESSARY
for the establishment of Horizontal and Vertical Ground
Control and shall include all Geodetic and Framework
Surveys and all Trigonometrical, Topographic and
Cadastral Surveys as are required in connection with
the proper mapping for and on behalf of the Bahamas
Government of the said Island of Cat Island and the
said Cays, Rocks and Islets which are situated in the
vicinity of and adjacent to the said Island of Cat Island;
AND this Public Survey shall hereafter be known as PUBLIC

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Chief Justice
by section 41 of the Supreme Court Act (Chapter 33) and section
73 of the Trade Union and Industrial Conciliation Act, 1958, the
following rules are hereby made:-
Short Title
1. These rules may be cited as the Supreme Court (Trade
Union and Industrial Conciliation Act, 1958) Rules, 1959.
Practice and Procedure
2. Subject to and for the purposes of giving effect to the
provisions of section 73 of the Trade Union and Industrial Con-
ciliation Act, 1958, the Supreme Court Rules, and in particular
rule 489 thereof, shall apply for regulating the practice and pro-
cedure in all matters relating to the granting of relief under the
said section of the said Act.

Law of The Bahama Islands 1957), is published for general in-
formation.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Made in pursuance of an Agreement dated the 4th day of
August, 1956, Between His Excellency the Honourble Anthony
Geoffrey Hopwood Gardner-Brown, Acting Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over the Bahama Islands acting for and
on behalf of the Government of the Bahama Islands of the one
part And The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited of the
ether part, made under the authority, of The Hawksbill Creek,
Grand Bahama (Deep Water Harbour and Industrial Area) Act,
(Chapter 177 of The Statute Law of The Bahama Islands 1957).








WHEREAS under the provisions of paragraph (b) of sub-
clause (13) of clause 1 of the Agreement dated the 4th day of
August, A.D., 1955 and recorded in the Registry of Records of
the Colony in Book 8 (New Series) at pages 447 to 479 and made
between His Excellency the Honourable Anthony Geoffrey Hop-
wood Gardner-Brown, Acting Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over the Bahama Islands of the one part and The
Grand Bahama Port Authority Limited, a company incorporated
under the laws of the said Bahama Islands and carrying on busi-
ness within the Colony of the other part entered into under the
authority of The Hawksbill Creek, Grand Bahama (Deep Water
Harbour and Industrial Area) Act 1955 The Grand Bahama Port
Authority, Limited, covenanted as follows:-
To Supply the Colonial Secretary within Three years and
Six months from the date of the said Agreement with proper
survey plans of:-
Fifty thousand acres of Crown land, Eighty acres of
land purchased from private owners, and such parts of Four-
teen hundred and Twenty acres of land as shall have been
purchased by the Port Authority from private owners with-
in Three years from the date of the said Agreement.
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of paragraph
(b) of sub-clause (13) of clause 1 of the said Agreement The
Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited on the 29th day of Jan-
uary A.D., 1959 supplied the Colonial Secretary with proper sur-
vey plans of the following areas being the remainder of Fifty
thousand acres of Crown Land, and Eighty acres and Fourteen
hundred and Twenty acres of land purchased by the Port Au-
thority from private owners within Three years from the date
of the Agreement hereinbefore referred to:
(1) All that parcel of Crown Land containing Two
thousand One hundred and Forty-six and Fifty-five hun-
dredths (2,146.55) acres situate on the West bank of Hawks-
bill Creek as shown delineated on that part which is out-
lined in Pink on Sheet 2 of 10 (Plan No. 54), being one of
the aforesaid plans hereinbefore referred to and filed with
the Colonial Secretary.
(2) All those parcels of private lands containing Two
hundred and Forty-six (246) acres situate at the mouth of
and on the western bank of Hawksbill Creek as shown de-
lineated on those parts which are coloured in Yellow on
Sheet 2 of 10 (Plan No. 54), being one of the aforesaid plans
hereinbefore referred to and filed with the Colonial Secre-
tary.
(3) All that portion of the bed of Hawksbill Creek
containing Ninety-two (92) acres, more or less, as shown
delineated on that part which is coloured Purple on Sheet
2 of 10 (Plan No. 54), being one of the aforesaid plans here-
inbefore referred to and filed with the Colonial Secretary.








(4) All that parcel of Crown Land containing Sixty-
seven and Forty-five hundredths (67.45) acres situate on a
cay in the northern estuary of Hawksbill Creek as shown
delineated on that part which is coloured Grey on Sheet 5
of 10 (Plan No. 30), being one of the aforesaid plans herein-
before referred to and filed with the Colonial Secretary.
(5) All those parcels of private lands containing Five
hundred and Thirty-four and Ninety-three hundredths
(534.93) acres situate in the area between Hawksbill Creek
and the Settlement of Smith's Point as shown delineated on
those parts which are coloured in Yellow on Sheet 5 of 10
(Plan No. 30) excluding the area of One hundred and Four-
teen and Fifty-seven hundredths (114.57) acres hatched in
Red lines, being one of the aforesaid plans hereinbefore re-
ferred to and filed with the Colonial Secretary.
(6) All those parcels of private lands containing Four
hundred and Thirty-nine and Sixty-three hundredths (439.63)
acres situate in the area between the Settlement of Smith's
Point and Gold Rock Creek as shown delineated on those
parts which are coloured in Yellow on Sheet 6 of 10 (Plan
No. 44), Sheet 7 of 10 (Plan No. 45), Sheet 8 of 10 (Plan No.
46A) and Sheet 9 of 10 (Plan No. 48), being four of the afore-
said plans hereinbefore referred to and filed with the Co.
lonial Secretary.
(7) All those parcels of Crown Lands containing One
thousand Two hundred and Forty-one (1,241) acres situate
in the area between Gold Rock Creek and Big Pelican Point
as shown delineated on those parts which are coloured in
Pink on Sheet 10 of 10 (Plan No. 89), being one of the afore-
said plans hereinbefore referred to and filed with the Co-
lonial Secretary.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to the provisions of sub-clause
(18) of clause 2 of the said Agreement the Governor by and with
the advice of the Executive Council hereby declares the said
lands delineated on such survey plans to be a part of the Port
Area within the meaning of the said Agreement.
1. This Order shall be cited as the Hawksbill Creek, Grand
Bahama (Deep Water Harbour and Industrial Area) Port Area
No. 2 Order 1959.
2. This Order shall be deemed to come into force on the
date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Ordered in Council this 17th day of June, 1959.
