The subjoined Notice of Intention given under The Acqui-
sition of Land Act (Ch. 254) is published for general information.

NOTICE OF INTENTION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Ch. 254)
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is re-
quired for a public purpose
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby notified that it is the in-
tention of His Excellency the Governor in Council on behalf of
the Promoters the Bahamas Electricity Corporation to acquire
the said land for a public purpose to wit: for the purpose of in-
stalling thereon permanent distribution lines leading from the
Clifton Pier Power Station to the City of Nassau
All persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial
Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests
in the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim
to compensation for such interests.

of Agnes Alexandra Rodehn situate in the Western District of
the Island of New Providence being a portion of land originally

of land is bounded Northwardly by Harrold Road and running
thereon One Hundred (100) feet Eastwardly by other portion of
the said land originally granted to the said Alexander Harrold
but now the property of Archie Thomas Dew and running there-
on Two Thousand Four Hundred and Fifty-seven and Forty-six
Hundredths (2,457.46) feet Southwardly by vacant Crown Land
and running thereon One Hundred (100) feet and Westwardly by
other land the property of the said Agnes Alexander Rodehn.

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Chapter 254)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 53 dated the 24th March 1959,
and published in the Gazette dated the 24th March, 1959, the
Governor in Council declared that it was his intention on be-
half of the Promoters The Bahamas Electricity Corporation to
acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto
AND WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor is of the
opinion that it is necessary that possession of the selected land
should be obtained by the Promoters before payment is made
to rightful claimants to the property described in the Schedule
hereto
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected
land has been appropriated by the Promoters mentioned in the
said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

LICENSING OF BICYCLES
For the convenience of bicycle owners, police inspection of
bicycles will be undertaken at Cable Beach Police Station from
3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday 31st March, 1959, and at Fox
Hill Police Station from 3 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday 1st
April, 1959. Bicycles will be inspected only. Licences can be
obtained at the Licensing Office, Fort Charlotte, on production
of a certificate of inspection which will be issued.

OLD AGE PENSIONS
Old Age Pensioners are advised that pensions for the month
of March, 1959 will be paid at the British Legion Hall on Blue
Hill Road on Tuesday 31st March, Wednesday 1st April, and
Thursday 2nd April, 1959 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2. Pensioners whose surnames begin with the letters A-G
should attend on Tuesday, those whose surnames begin with the
letters H-M. on Wednesday and those whose surnames begin with
the letters N-Z on Thursday.
