Majesty the Queen will not be advised to exercise Her power
of disallowance with respect to the following Act of the Legisla-
ture of the Bahama Islands:-

CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Applications are invited for the post of Stenographer in the
office of the Commission.
Salary will be in Scale 5 (400 to 1,080 p.a.) and successful
applicant will be placed in the Scale according to qualifications
and experience.
Qualifications required are a very good educational back
ground, ability to write short minutes, ability to write shorthand
at 100 w.p.m. and to type accurately, good experience of office
work, filing and cross-indexing. Ability to type from Dictaphone
recording will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will, in fact, be required to act as
Secretary to the Commission and will have clerical help. The
post will carry considerable responsibility and will be of a con-
fidential nature. The highest references as to character will be
required.
Application Forms may be obtained at the office of the Coin
mission, Gaol Alley, and when returned should be accompanied
by three recent testimonials from responsible persons. Final ap-
plications will close at 12 noon on 23rd March, 1959.

(Chapter 294)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in
Council by section 9(1) of the Tariff Act the following Order is
hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Customs Duties (Whole
Canned Tomatoes) Order 1959.

2. The duties of Customs on whole canned tomatoes shall be
increased to the maximum as set out in the maximum column of
Part 1 of the Second Schedule to the Tariff Act.
