His Excellency the Governor has approved the following ap-
pointments:-
Dr. Alfred William Frisby, C.B.E., LL.D., E.D., to be Chairman
of the Civil Service Commission with effect from the 12th
February, 1959. M.P. P.1309.
Mr. D. E. d'Albenas, M.H.A., to be a Member of the Bahamas
Electricity Corporation with effect from the 13th Febru-
ary, 1959, in the place of the Hon. Dr. R. W. Sawyer,
M.E.C., M.H.A., who has resigned.-M.P. 14824C.
Dr. M. M. Gerassimos to be an Assistant Medical Officer with
effect from the 1st April, 1958 M.P. P.1169.

His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the
Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies that
Her Majesty the Queen will not be advised to exercise Her pow-
er of disallowance with respect to the following Acts of the Leg-
islature of the Bahama Islands:-

No. 18 of 1958 The Quieting Titles Act 1958.
No. 31 of 1958 The Workmen's Compensation Amendment Act

Supreme Court of the Bahama Islands on its Probate Side by
Arthur Mervyn Clifford Johnson, Esq., of the City of Nassau in
the Island of New Providence, one of the Bahama Islands, Bar-
rister-at-Law, for the resealing of the Probate of the Will in the
above estate, granted to Belva Hammell, George Meredith
Huycke, Neil J. McKinnon and Charles H. Hamilton, the Execu-
tors named in the said Will, by the Surrogate Court of the
County of Halton on the llth July, 1958.

It is hereby notified that in accordance with the Real Prop-
erty Tax Act legal action will be taken for the recovery of arrears
of taxes due to 31st December, 1958. Persons whose taxes are
in arrears are warned that they are liable to a penalty of 10% of
the taxes due in addition to the costs of proceedings.

Wharf.

Side of the Channel and the Turning Basin. The Markers will
be moved progressively Eastwards as dredging operations con-

The subjoined Order in Council made under The Out Islands
Administration Act (Chapter 29) is published for general in-
formation.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Made Under
THE OUT ISLANDS ADMINISTRATION ACT
(Chapter 29)
WHEREAS by section 3 of The Out Islands Administration
Act (Chapter 29), Out Islands shall from time to time be divided









into Districts by the Governor ,in Council who may determine
the area, boundaries and official designation of any District so
constituted.
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient for administrative
judicial and other purposes authorised by the said Act that the
Island of Abaco be separated into three Districts to be known
as Green Turtle Cay District, Hope Town District and Sandy
Point District, defined respectively as follows:
HOPE TOWN DISTRICT: Headquarters at Hope Town,
Little Guana Cay-Bounded on the North or Northwest by the
Channel between Whale Cay and Great Guana Cay, thence to
the North end of the locality known as Turtle Rocks, on the
mainland of Abaco, thence across the land to Matthew Point on
the Western Coast and thence to the South end of the Wollen
Dean Cays.
This District includes the mainland of Abaco and all the ad-
jacent Cays to the Southeast and South of the line described
above to a line one mile north of Crossing Rock, excluding
Moore's Island and Cay Gorda and the small Cays adjacent to
these Islands, comprising the settlements Hope Town, Marsh
Harbour, Cherokee Sound, Dundas Town, Murphy Town, Man-O-
War Cay and Great Guana Cay.
GREEN TURTLE CAY DISTRICT: Headquarters at Green
Turtle Cay bounded on the Southeast by the Channel Between
Whale Cay and Great Guana Cay, thence to the North end of
the locality known as Turtle Rocks thence across the mainland
of Abaco to Matthew Point on the Western Coast, thence in a
line running South by East to include the Wollen Dean Cays.
This District is to include the mainland of Great Abaco-
Little Abaco, and all the Abaco range of cays situate to North
and Northwest of the Southeast boundary described and extend-
ing as far as Walker's Cay Channel, comprising the settlements-
Green Turtle Cay, Black Wood and Big Grape Tree, Fire Road,
Cooper's Town, Cedar Harbour, Wood Cay, Mount Hope, Fox
Town, Crown Haven, Stranger's Cay, Grand Cay and Walker's
Cay.
SANDY POINT DISTRICT: Headquarters at Sandy Point-
bounded on the North by a line one mile North of Crossing Rock,
thence South to Hole-in-the-Wall and Northwest to Sandy Point.
The District is to include the mainland of Great Abaco South
of a line described above and the Islands known as Moore's Is-
land, Gorda Cay and the adjacent Cays, comprising settlements-
Sandy Point, Moore's Island and Crossing Rocks.
NOW THEREFORE His Excellency the Governor by these
presents orders and it is hereby ordered that, as and from the
First day of March, 1959, the Island of Abaco shall be divided
into three districts to be designated respectively as Green Turtle
Cay District, Hope Town District and Sandy Point District.









The Order in Council dated the 8th April, 1953 made under
the Out Islands Administration Act aforesaid is hereby revoked
as from the date above mentioned.
Ordered in Council this 4th day of February, 1959.
