The following Government Notice is published as a Supple-
ment to this Gazette:-
No. 247. Order in Council made under The Penal Code, Chapter
69.-M.P. 4736.

BAHAMA ISLANDS.

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS under Section 5 of The Plants Protection Act
(Chapter 244 of The Statute Law 1957), the Governor in Coun-
cil, on the recommendation of the Agricultural and Marine Pro-
ducts Board by a Proclamation dated the 26th day of October
A.D. 1956 prohibited importation to the Bahama Islands directly
or indirectly from any port or place in the State of Florida,
United States of America, of any plant (in which term is in-
cluded trees, shrubs, herbs, or vegetables; and cuttings, hay,
bulbs, seeds, berries, buds and grafts; corms, tubers and rhizomes;
and the fruit or product of any plant and the root, trunk, stem,
branch or leaf of any plant, and the whole or any part of any
growing, dying or dead plant including emptied pods, husks or
skins or any other articles which have been packed with any
plant (as hereinbefore defined) Save as follows:-

(a) any plant as hereinbefore defined in sealed packages or
unbroken cartons not originating in the State of Florida
imported into the Colony in transit through the State
of Florida with the approval in writing of the Board
of Agriculture; or
(b) any plant as hereinbefore defined originated in the
State of Florida imported into the Colony with the ap-
proval in writing of the Board of Agriculture.
AND WHEREAS the Governor in Council on the recom-
mendation of the Agricultural and Marine Products Board deems
it no longer necessary to continue in force the prohibition of the
importation of products as set out in the foregoing paragraph.
NOW THEREFORE my Proclamation made under Section
5 of The Plants Protection Act dated the 26th day of October,
A.D. 1956 is hereby cancelled.

Government House, in the City of
Nassau, in the Island of New Provi-
dence, this 24th day of December,
A.D. 1958 in the Seventh year of
Her Majesty's Reign.

OLD AGE PENSIONS
Old Age Pensioners are advised that pensions for the month
of December, 1958 will be paid at the Infant Welfare Clinic on
Blue Hill Road on Monday, 29th December and Tuesday, 30th
December, 1958 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2. Pensioners whose surname begin with the letters A-M
should attend on Monday and those whose surname begin with
the letters N-Z on Tuesday.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
Made Under
THE PENAL CODE
(Chapter 69)
WHEREAS under and by virtue of section 172(2) of The
Penal Code the provisions of sections 172 and 173 of that Act
shall extend to such place in the Colony as the Governor in Coun-
cil shall order







AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to extend the pro-
visions of the said Act to the place mentioned in the Schedule
hereto
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby ordered that the provisions
of sections 172 and 173 of the said Act shall be and the same
is hereby extended to the place mentioned in the Schedule hereto
SCHEDULE
The Airstrip at George Town Exuma and the approaches
thereto.
