A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by virtue of certain Writs of Election issued
under the Public Seal of the Colony, a General Assembly of these
Islands was appointed to be holden at the City of Nassau on
Monday the 2nd day of July, 1956.
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the said General Assem-
bly shall meet at a later date.
NOW THEREFORE I do issue this my Proclamation declar-
ing that the said General Assembly having been duly constituted
by the Election of Members therefore in pursuance of the said

Writs the General Assembly shall on Monday the 9th day of
July, 1956, meet in the usual place in the City of Nassau for the
despatch of business.

tur.

THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
Chapter 265
WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in
Council that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
for a public purpose.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that it is the inten-
tion of the Governor in Council to acquire the said land for a
public purpose to wit: for the purpose of implementing the
Agreement made with the concurrence of the Government of the
Bahama Islands between the Government of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland and the Government of the United States of
America concerning a Long Range Proving Ground for Guided
Missiles to be known as "The Bahamas Long Range Proving
Ground".
ALL persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days
of the publication of this notice state in writing to the Acting
Colonial Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective
interests in the said land and the amount and particulars of their
claim to compensation of such interests.
Dated this 15th day of June, 1956.

SCHEDULE
All that certain tract or parcel of land situated in the area
between Bonefish Bay and Flamingo Pond, on the Island of San
Salvador, Colony of the Bahamas, British West Indies as outlined
on a Map, File No. F56A14413, which by this reference is made
a part hereof, said tract or parcel of land being fifty (50) foot
wide right of way, the centre line of which is more particularly
described as follows:
From the point of beginning of Tract No. SS-506 as previously
described in that said tract, go thence North 04 degrees, 58 min-
utes East, 3540.00 feet to a brass disc set in concrete; thence North
85 degrees, 02 minutes West, 200.00 feet to a brass disc set in
concrete which is the point of beginning of the centre line of the
said fifty (50) foot Right of Way No. SS-507.
From this point of beginning the centre line of Right of Way
No. SS-507 extends thence through Crown Lands North 40 de-
grees, 02 minutes West, 1045.00 feet to a point on the common
boundary between said Crown lands and land said to be the
property of the Roman Catholic mission of the Bahamas; thence
continuing North 40 degrees, 02 minutes West, 875 feet more or
less through land said to be the property of the Roman Catholic
Mission of the Bahamas to a point on the eastern boundary line
of the Main Public Road known as Limestone Road.

Main Public Road and extending through vacant Crown Lands,

beginning and containing 118.59 acres more or less.
Excepting from the above tract a right-of-way 20 feet wide
for the Public Road from Cockburntown to Little Lake, the centre
line of which enters Tract No. SS-505 at a point which is located
North 04 degrees, 58 minutes East, 1634.00 feet from the brass
disc set in concrete which marks the southwest corner of that
portion of Tract No. SS-505 which is located within land said
to be in the possession of the Oakes Estate and extends thence
in an easterly direction for a distance of 200 feet to a point which
is located North 04 degrees, 58 minutes East, 1648.00 feet from
the brass disc set in concrete which marks the southeast corner
of said portion of Tract No. SS-505 which is located within land
said to be in the possession of the Oakes Estate, said right-of-way
containing 0.09 acres, more or less.

said land for a public purpose to wit: for the construction of a
Public School at Blue Hole, Andros.
All persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days

Secretary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests in
the said land and the amount and particulars of their claim to
compensation for such interests.

SCHEDULE
All that certain tract or parcel of land situate in the Blue
Hole district of Mangrove Cay, Andros, rectangular in shape
lying to the North of the Public Road, the distance along this
road from a concrete pillar set in the ground at the place (where
the road changes its direction) in a direction N 760 80 E being
440 ft. to another concrete pillar; bounded on the easterly side
by a line running in a direction N 150 W for a distance 220 ft.;
then in a direction S 760 30 E for a distance of 440 ft., and then
in a direction of S 150 W for 200 ft. back to the first pillar at
the point where the main road changes direction; the whole area
of approximately two acres and formed part of the five acre track
belong to the Estate of the late Laura Wright.

this reference is made a part hereof, and more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at a point on the mean high water mark of the
Atlantic Ocean on the western coast of the Island of San Salvador,
at a place approximately 7.2 miles south of Tract No. SS-502,
as measured along the Main Public Road, which point is marked
by a brass disc set in concrete, go thence through vacant Crown
Land and across the Main Public Road South 74 degrees 36 min-
utes 40 seconds East, 50.00 feet to a brass disc set in concrete

on the common boundary line between vacant Crown Land and
land said to be in the possession of Jeremiah Edgecombe; thence
along said common boundary line between vacant Crown Land
and land said to be in the possession of Jeremiah Edgecombe
South 15 degrees 23 minutes 20 seconds West, 50.00 feet to a brass
disc set in concrete; thence through vacant Crown Land and
across the Main Public Road North 74 degrees 36 minutes 40
seconds West, 50.00 feet to a brass disc set in concrete on the
mean high water mark of the Atlantic Ocean on the western
coast of the Island of San Salvador; thence along the said mean
high water mark of the Atlantic Ocean, North 15 degrees 23
minutes 20 seconds East, 50.00 feet back to the point of beginning
and containing 0.06 acres, more or less.
Excepting from the above tract a thirty (30) foot wide right-
of-way for the Main Public Road, the centre line of which enters
Tract No. SS-511 at a point which is located South 74 degrees
36 minutes 40 seconds East, 25.00 feet from the brass disc which
marks the Northwestern Corner of Tract No. SS-511 and extends
thence in a southerly direction for a distance of 50.00 feet to a
point which is located South 74 degrees 36 minutes 40 seconds
East, 25.00 feet from the brass disc which marks the Southwestern
Corner of Tract No. SS-511.

of way, the centre line of which is more particularly described

of beginning of the centre line of the said fifty (50) foot Right
of Way No. SS-510.
From this point of beginning the centre line of Right of Way
No. SS-510 extends thence through land said to be in the posses-
sion of The San Salvador Development Company South 36 de-
grees 28 minutes 40 seconds East, 117.28 feet to a point, thence
South 21 degrees 22 minutes 40 seconds East, 176.30 feet to a
point; thence South 01 degrees 55 minutes 40 seconds East, 191.28
feet to a point on the northern boundary line of the Main Public
Road known as Limstone Road.

From Station "Waldo", a United States Coast and Geodetic
Survey mark set in concrete at the geographic Position of Latitude
24 degrees 07 minutes 18.65 seconds North and Longitude 74
degrees 27 minutes 04.84 seconds West, go thence North 65 de-
grees 35 minutes 40 seconds West, 1179.00 feet to an iron pipe
set in concrete and designated "Station ROTI", thence South 09

Made Under
THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT
(CH. 26)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section
37 of the Public Health Act the Health Board for the Colony
X with the approval and confirmation of the Governor in Council
hereby make the following Rules:-

1. These Rules may be cited as the Health Amendment
Rules 1956.
2. Rule 77 of the Health Rules 1934 is hereby revoked and
the following substituted therefore:
"77. Every person connected with the production,
handling, storage or care of foodstuffs shall have been ex-
amined by a Government Medical Officer or a Medical Prac-
titioner and pronounced free from any contagious and infec-
tious diseases within the past six pjonths, Health certiicates
shall be kept in a place convenient for examiiatioii by the
Health Officer. Nothing in this Rule shallpreclude the re-
examination of any person at any time when deemed advisable
by an employer, Medical Officer or Medical Practitioner. A
nominal fee of 2/- shall be charged for each certificate ob-
tained from a Government Medical Officer and monies thus
collected shall be paid into the Public Treasury."
