It is hereby notified, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 60 of the General Assembly Elections Act (No. 19 of 1946),
that the Ballot Papers returned in respect of the Election in the
City District of New Providence have been recounted by the
Colonial Secretary and Mr. Stafford Lofthouse Sands, C.B.E., and
Dr. Raymond Wilson Sawyer have been elected with 264 and 194
votes respectively. Dr. Jackson L. Burnside received 103 votes.
There were 3 spoiled papers.

Eastern District of New Providence
It is hereby notified, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 60 of the General Assembly Elections Act (No. 19 of 1946),
that the Ballot Papers returned in respect of the Election in the
Eastern District of New Providence have been recounted by the
Colonial Secretary and the Hon. Roland T. Symonette, M.E.C.,
and Mr. Samuel Leonard Isaacs have been elected with 1352 and
1235 votes respectively. Mr. Alfred E. J. Dupuch, O.B.E., received
1188 votes, Mr. Geoffrey A. D. Johnstone received 990 votes and
Mr. Wilfred G. Cash received 121 votes. There were 81 spoiled
papers.

It is hereby notified, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 60 of the General Assembly Elections Act (No. 19 of 1946),
that the Ballot Papers returned in respect of the Election in the
Western District of New Providence have been recounted by the
Colonial Secretary and Mr. Milo B. Butler and Mr. Gerald C. Cash
have been elected with 726 and 685 votes respectively. Mr. Percy
E. Christie received 282 votes, Mr. Marcus Bethel received 240
votes, Mr. P. L. Adderley received 233 votes and Mr. A. P. Maillis
received 174 votes. There were 37 spoiled papers.

Southern District of New Providence
It is hereby notified, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 60 of the General Assembly Elections Act (No. 19 of 1946),
that the Ballot Papers returned in respect of the Election in the
Southern District of New Providence have been recounted by the
Colonial Secretary and Mr. Randol F. Fawkes and Mr. Lynden
Oscar Pindling have been elected with 1440 and 1334 votes respec-
tively. Mr. B. A. Cambridge received 235 votes, Mr. O. H. Bodie
received 199 votes and Dr. C. R. Walker received 121 votes. There
were 74 spoiled papers.

Brazil at Port of Spain, Trinidad, with jurisdiction including

the Windward Islands, British Honduras, Barbados (excluding
Bridgetown) and British Guiana (excluding Georgetown).
