Civil Aviation Department,
Oakes International Airport,
December 22nd, 1955.
Drivers or owners of vehicles conveying passengers for reward
to and from Oakes Airport are reminded that under Section II of
the Bahamas Aiiport Rules, 1952, it is necessary to obtain a
permit from the Director of Civil Aviation. Permits for the year











of 1956 will be issued up to and including the 21st day of January,
1956 and operators of vehicles must obtain a permit during this
period.
Any driver of a vehicle found operating for hire and reward
after the 21st January, 1956 without a permit will be dealt with
under Section IV of these Rules.

NOTICE
ROADS EASTERN DISTRICT
Tenders are invited for me construction of the following roads
in Sandilands Village:-
(a) A road immediately South of the Jungle Club, length 1100
feet, having a mean width of 20 feet.
(b) A short road 350 feet long by 16 feet wide, known as Eneas
Burial Ground Road, leading from the Main Road to the cemetery.
(c) A road 780 feet long, and about 20 feet wide, starting from
Bernard's Road at St. Anslem's R. C. Church, and terminating at
Rose Street.
Contractors are requested to quote as follows:-
Item (1) The cost to construct the complete road (a), (b) or
(c), ready for oiling, including the unit price per superficial yard.
Item (2) The cost of asphalting the complete road (a), (b) or
(c), including the unit price for superficial yard for oiling and
sanding.
Sealed tenders to be marked "Road Sandilands Village", ten.
ders will close noon December 30th, the right is reserved to ac-
cept or reject any or all tenders, including the acceptance of Items
(1) or (2) together or separately.

APPOINTMENTS CIVIL AVIATION DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited for the post of Accounts Clerk in the
Civil Aviation Department. Applicants should possess the
Cambridge Senior Certificate and have had practical experience
of accounts and general office procedure including typewriting.
The post will be a Clerk Grade III appointment initially but
early promotion to Clerk Grade II will be offered to a suitable
officer. The salary is 600 per annum.
Applications should be addressed to the Director of Civil
Aviation, P. O. Box 975, Nassau, N. P. and should reach his office
not later than noon 31st. December, 1955.

Council by section 3(4) of the Industries Encouragement Act
1951 the following Order is hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Industries Encouragement
Order No. 4 of 1955.

2. Nassau Wear is hereby registered as a Factory to manu-
facture garments of all descriptions, Shirts, Blouses, Shorts,
Jackefs, Trousers, Suits, etc. and Industrial Clothing primarily
intended for export, subject to the: conditions and restrictions
as set out below.

Conditions and Restrictions
Registration approved for a period of one year in the first
instance.

Ordered in Council this 23rd day of December, 1955.
