NOTICE OF INVESTIGATION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
Section 4 of Chapter 265.
WHEREAS it appears to the Governor in Council that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is likely to be needed for
a public purpose, to wit: for the purpose of constructing an air-
strip on the Island of South Bimini.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the Governor
in Council has authorized the Director of Civil Aviation and his
servants, agents and workmen to enter upon the, said land and
make preliminary surveys and do all other such necessary acts
as are premitted by section 4 of The Acquisition of Land as from
the 15th June, 1955.

SCHEDULE.
ALL THAT tract of land situate on the Island of South Bimini,
in the vicinity of Little Duck Pond, and comprising a portion
of the area known as Centre Ridge and certain lands to the
southward and eastward of the allotments at Centre Ridge and
bounded as tfoll!ows:-
On the East-partly by a tract of 20 acres of land which was
granted in 1860 to James B. Hanna (see Crown
Lands record F. 126)and a tract of 18 acres
of land which was granted in 1874 to Andrew
Rolle (see Crown Lands record F. 217) and
partly by Crown Land and a pond to the south

of the said tract of 18 acres granted in 1874 to
Andrew Rolle
On the West-partly by a lot of land known as Lot No. 8 at
Centre Ridge which was granted in 1850 to John
Weech (See Crown Lands record F. 91) and
partly by a tract of 27 acres of land which was
granted in 1886 to Samuel Braudie and James
A. Smith (see Crown Lands record F. 167)
On the North-by that portion of the northern coast of South
Bimini Island which lies 'between the northeast-
ern corner of the aforesaid Lot No. 8 at Centre
Ridge and the northwestern corner of the said
tract of 20 acres which was granted to James
B. Hanna in 1860
On the South-by that portion of the southern coast of South
Bimini Island which lies Ibetween the south-
eastern corner of the aforesaid tract of 27 acres
which was granted to Samuel Braudie and James
A. Smith in 1886 and the southeastern corner of a
tract of 200 acres of land which was granted in
1849 to the Hon. Charles R. Nesbitt (see Crown
Lands record F. 72)
which sbid tract of land contains 466 acres more or less and
comprises approximately 40 acres of Crown Land and approxi-
mately 423 acres of granted lands including the following:-
Lot No. 9 at Centre Ridge which was originally granted to
John Holbert in 1859 (Crown Lands Reference
F. 116)
Lot No. 10 at Centre Ridge which was originally granted to Henry
Brister in 1850 (Crown Lands Reference F. 85)
Lot No. 11 at Centre Ridge which was originally granted to
Alexander Bain in 1851 (Crown Lands Reference
F. 100)
Lot Nos. 12 and 13 at Centre Ridge which were originally granted
to Faulkner Smith in 1850 (Crown Lands Ref-
erence F. 20)
Lot No. 14 at Center Ridge which was originally granted to
Alexander Bain in 1851 (Crown Lands Reference
F. 100)
Lots Nos. 15, 16 and 17 at Centre Ridge which were originally
.granted to Cipriano Palacios in 1850 (Crown
Lands Reference F. 87)
Lots Nos. 18, 19 and 20 at Centre Ridge which were originally
granted to Alfred Smith in 1850 (Crown Lands
Reference F. 77)
Lots No. 21 at Centre Ridge which was originally granted to
Charles Bain in 1851 (Crown Lands Reference
F. 98)
Lot No. 22 at Center Ridge which was originally granted to
William Symonette in 1850 (Crown Lands Ref-
erence F. 88)
Lot No. 23 at Center Ridge which was originally granted to
Archibold McBride in 1850 (Crown Lands Ref-

Lot No. 24 at Center Ridge which was originally granted
to Benjamin Shearman in 1850 (Crown Lands
