instructions for the appointment of Mr. Charles Walter Frederick
Bethell, M.H.A., to be an Unofficial Member of the 'Executive

TENDERS FOR MAIL SERVICE


No. 99.
In accordance with the pro-
vision of the Inter-Insular Mails
Act (No. 8 of 1948), the Gov-
ernor-in-Council will consider
tenders for the performance of
the undermentioned Mail, Pas-
senger and Freight Services.
2. Sealed tenders addressed to
the Colonial Secretary will be
received at this office up to noon
on Thursday the 30th June, 1955.
3. Tenders must be on the
printed form, copies of which


can be obtained at the Office
of the Colonial Secretary where
a form of contract can also be
inspected and further par-
ticulars obtained. A REPORT
ON THE MAIL VESSEL, BY
THE PILOTAGE BOARD,
SHOULD ACCOMPANY ALL
TENDERS.
4. No tender will be accepted
until the vessel has been fav-
ourably reported on by a com-
petent authority to the satisfac-
tion of the Governor-in-Council.

sails, rigging, life saving and
fire extinguishing appliances,
boats etc., and to the provision
of proper passenger and toilet

NOTICE TO MARINERS
A new and more powerful Beacon will be established on the
top of the high level water tower Nassau, New Providence on the
night of June 7th 1955.
This new Beacon will display a compound flash of alternating
bright white flashes with duller green flashes, making in all
twelve flashes per minute at intervals of five seconds.

THE SUPREME COURT (POWER OF MASTER) RULES, 1955
MADE UNDER THE SUPREME COURT ACT.
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Chief Justice
by section 41 of the Supreme Court Act Ch. 33, the following
Rules are hereby made:-
1. These rules may be cited as the Supreme Court (Powers
of Master) Rules, 1955.
2 Without prejulice to any powers of a Master of the High
Court of Justice in England which may have been con-
ferred upon the Registrar of the Supreme Court by virtue
of those rules known as the Bahamas Practice and
published in 1924, the said Registrar shall have and
exercise all such powers of a Master as may from time to
time be set out in the Schedule to these rules.
