cil, acting under the authority of Section 6 of the Public Holidays
Act 1938 (Ch. 15) has authorised the carrying on of business in any
shop until the hour of 6 p.m. on Friday the 31st December, 1954,
and between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the 1st January,
1955.

Honourable The Secretary of State for the Colonies that Her Ma-
jesty The Queen will not be advised to exercise her power of dis-
allowance with respect to the following Acts of the Legislature of
the Bahama Islands:-
No. 59 of 1954 The Randall Albert Russell Pension Act 1954.
No. 61 of 1954 The Hilda Melissa Prudden Pension Act 1954.
2. His Excellency directs that the above mentioned Acts shall
come into force as on and from the 22nd July, 1954.

(No. 28 of 1952) is published for general information.

MADE UNDER
THE PENSIONS ACT
(No. 28 of 1952)

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in Coun-
cil by section 4 of the Pensions Act, the following Order is hereby
made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Mary Lucille Reeves Pension
Order, 1954.
2. A pension at the rate of Two Hundred and Ninety-six Pounds
Eleven Shillings and Four Pence (296. 11. 4.) per annum is hereby
granted to Mary Lucille Reeves as from the 1st day of January,
1955.

MADE UNDER
THE MAGISTRATES ACT
(Ch. 43)

WHEREAS by section 10 of the Magistrates Act the Governor in
Council may by Order in Council nominate any Justice of the
Peace, and empower him to try cases singly within the limits of
any district or area to be defined by the Order during the period
,o be specified in such Order:
NOW THEREFORE the Governor in Council in exercise of the
powers vested in him by the said section 10 of the Magistrates Act
hereby nominates Major Henry Popham James, Justice of the Peace
for the whole Colony, to try cases singly in the Out Islands of the
Colony.
This Order shall come into force on the first day of January,
1955, and shall expire on the first day of January, 1956.
Ordered in Council this 30th day of December, 1954.
