GIVEN UNDER
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
CHAPTER 265

WHEREAS it appears to His Excellency the Governor in Council
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is required for a
public purpose
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that it is the intention
of His Excellency the Governor in Council to acquire the said land
for a public purpose, to wit: a clinic.
All persons interested in the said land shall within 30 days of
the publication of this notice state in writing to the Colonial Secre-
tary of the Colony the nature of their respective interests in the
said land and the amount and particulars of their claim to com-
pensation for such interests.

Drivers or owners of vehicles conveying passengers for reward to
and from Oakes Airport are reminded that under Section II of the
Bahamas Airport Rules, 1952, it is necessary to obtain a permit from
the Director of Civil Aviation. Permits for the year of 1955 will be
issued up to and including the 15th day of January, 1955 and opera-
tors of vehicles must obtain a permit during this period.
Any driver of a vehicle found operating for hire and reward
after the 15th January, 1955 without a permit will be dealt with under
Section IV of these Rules.

REAL PROPERTY TAX


Notice is hereby given that Real Property Tax in respect of the
quarter ending 31st December, 1954, became due on the 1st October,
1954.
Property owners who are still in arrears are reminded of provi-
sions of Section 11(a) of Real Property Tax Act 1938 under which
legal action is required to be taken by the Treasurer in respect of
any amount in arrear for more than thiry (30) days and the Finan-
cial Regulations which require a list of all arrears to be placed before
the House of Assembly.
It is also pointed out that authority is given to the Court by
Section 16 of the Act to impose on persons adjudged to pay any taxes
payable under the Ac, a penalty of 10% of the taxes due in addition
to such taxes and the cost of the suit.
