27th December, 1954, and on Saturday the 1st January, 1955.

NOTICE

TENDERS FOR MAKING AND REPAIRING POLICE UNIFORMS

Tenders are invited for making and repairing Police Uniforms for
the year commencing 1st January, 1955.
Patterns of uniforms can be seen at Police Head Quarters.
Persons tendering will be required to submit the names of two
responsible sureties willing to be bound for the due fulfilment of the
Contract. The sureties must sign the tender.
Sealed envelopes addressed to the Commissioner of Police and
marked "TENDER FOR UNIFORM" must be delivered at Police Head
Quarters, not later than 12 o'clock noon on Saturday, 18th December,
1954.
The right is reserved to reject any or the whole of the tenders.
Forms for tender can de obtained at Police Head Quarters.
The Contractor will be required to provide a ten shillings stamp
to be fixed to the Agreement.

NOTICE
The Order published herewith continues in force until the 10th
December, 1955, certain Defence Regulations which it is still consid-
ered necessary to retain in order to ensure supplies and services, and
generally for the protection of the Public during the present econo-
mic crisis. The relevant section of the United Kingdom Emergency
Laws (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1947 and the Order in Council
applying the provisions of that Act to this and Other Colonies were
published in the Official Gazette on the 13th February, 1948 (O.G.
1948 page 51). A similar Order in Council entitled the Emergency
Laws, (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Colonies etc.) Order in Council
1954 has just been made by Her Majesty.

ORDER IN COUNCIL 1954
WHEREAS certain Defence Regulations retained under the pro-

visions of the Emergency Laws (Transitional Powers) Order 1946 will
shortly expire and it appears to the Acting Governor to be necessary
and expedient that certain of them shall continue in force;
NOW TiHEls i El'OREI in exercise of the powers conferred upon him
by the Emergency Laws (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Colonies etc.)
Order in Council 1954 the Acing Governor hereby makes the follow-
ing Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Laws (Miscellane-
ous Provisions) Order 1954.
2. The Defence Regulations mentioned in the Schedule to this
Order shall, notwithstanding the expiry of the Emergency Powers
iDefence) Act 1939-1945. continue in force until the Tenth day of
December, 1955, subject to such exceptions, iiminations and modifica-
tions as are specified opposite such Regulations in the said Schedule.
