Tenders for submission to the Governor-in-Council will be re-
ceived at the Secretariat until Noon, Saturday the 4th December,
1954, for the following Printing Contracts:-
(a) the publication in a daily newspaper of Government and
Departmental Notices and Advertisements.
The tenderer should state the rate for one insertion and for repeated
insertions.
(b) the printing of a weekly Gazette and Supplement, the ma-
terial for which will be supplied each week from this Office
on a day to be agreed upon with the tenderer. The Gazette
will be in foolscap size and the Supplement containing sub-
sidiary legislation will be in pamphlet size. The tender
should cover the cost and delivery of 300 copies to this Office
weekly on the day of publication.
The tenderer should also quote the rate per each additional 50
copies in excess of 300. Samples of paper to be used should be
submitted.
2. Persons tendering are required to submit with their tenders
the names of two eligible persons who are willing to become bound
with them for the due performance of the work and who should also
sign and seal the tenders.
3. Tenders should be addressed to the "ACTING COLONIAL SEC-
RETARY" and marked "TENDERS FOR PRINTING OFFICIAL
GAZETTE AND PUBLISHING GOVERNMENT NOTICES".
4. The right is reserved of rejecting the whole or any of the
tenders.

.o expedite the delivery of parcels at the Parcel Pcs. Branch, there-
fore you are requested to present at that office on East Street, cer-
tified invoices of the C.I.F. value of goods, shipped from abroad by
parcel post, together with the relative parcel notices, at least 24
hours in advance of the dates, on which you wish to obtain delivery
of the said parcels.
2. This procedure will enable the postal clerks to locate such,
parcels, calculate the Customs duties and other charges, on the goods
contained therein, thus ensuring the minimum of delay at the time.
of delivery.
3. The presentation of a certified invoice is not necessary, if the
C.I.F. value has been declared on your parcel and you receive a par-
cel notice, on which the Customs duties and other charges have been
calculated.

THE MAGISTRATES ACT
WHEREAS by section 10 of the Magistrates Act the Governor in
Council may by Order in Council nominate any Justiac of the
Peace, and empower him to try cases singly within 'he limits of any
district or area to be defined by the Order during the period to be
specified in such Order:
NOW THEREFORE the Governor in Council in exercise of the
powers vested in him by the said section 10 of the Magistrates Act
hereby nominates Mr. Ellis Boyd, Justice of the Peace for the North-
ern Abaco Cays, to try cases singly in the Northern Abaco Cays.
This Order shall come into force on the fifteenth day of No-
vember, 1954, and shall expire on the fourteenth day of November,
1955.

MADE UNDER
THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1947
(No. 18 of 1947).

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Telecommunications
Board by Section 29(1) of the Telecommunications Act 1947, the
following Rules are wL:h the approval of the Governor in Council
hereby made:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Telecommunications Amend-
ment Rules 1954.
S2. The words "Radio Receiver Licences" appearing as the title
to Part VI of the Telecommunications Rules 1948 are hereby revoked
and replaced by the words "'Radio Receiving Apparatus".
3. Rules 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, and 135 of the Telecommu-
nicationr- Rules 1948 are hereby revoked.
4. Rule 136 of the Telecommunications Rules 1948 is hereby
revoked and replaced as follows:
136. No Radio receiving apparatus may be used for the re-
ception of public correspondence".
5. Rule 137 of the Telecommunications Rules 1948 is hereby










revoked and replaced as follows:
137. No press messages received on a radio receiving appara-
tus may be sold or disclosed to the public other than by
way of publication in a newspaper in respect of which a
bond has been executed and registered in accordance with
the provisions of the Newspaper Surety Act 1938 or any
Act passed in substitution therefore "
6. Rule 138 of the Telecommunications Rules 1948 is hereby re-
voked.

ing Rules are hereby made:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Telecommunications (Licence
Fees and Mobile Stations) Amendment Rules 1954.
2. Rule 2 of the Telecommunications (Licence Fees and Mobile
Stations) Rules, 1948 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the
portion relating to Radio Receiver Licences.
