The following Government Notice is published as a supplement
to this Gazette:-
NO. 175. The Prisons Rules 1952 (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1954.

His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the Right
Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies that Her Majesty
1:e Queen will not be advised to exercise Her power of disallowance
with respect to the following Act of the Legislature of the Bahama
Islands:-
NO. 21 of 1954 The Public Establishment, Amendment Act 1954.
1954.
His Excellency the Governor directs that the above mentioned
Act shall come into operation as on and from the 20th May, 1954.

NO. 177.
His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the Right
Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies that Her Majesty

Defunct Companies Act I have struck off the undermentioned Com-
pany as and from the 28th day of October, 1954 on the ground
that it has ceased to do business and is no longer in operation.

The subjoined Rules made under The Prisons Act (No. 22 of 1943)
are published for general information.
M.P. 9754.
RULES
MADE UNDER
THE PRISONS ACT.
(No. 22 of 1943).
Under the authority of the Prisons Act (Ch. 22 of 1943) and
subject to the provisions of the Imperial Act (1 & 2 Vic. Ch. 67)
the following Rules are hereby made by the Governor in Council:
1. These Rules may be cited as The Prisons Rules 1952 (Amend-
ment No. 2) Rules 1954.
2. The Prisons Rules 1952 are hereby amended by adding after
rule 93(2) (d) the following:
"(e) Escaping or attempting to escape from lawful custody.'
Made at Nassau by the Governor in Council this 9th day of
November, 1954.
