His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that Her
Majesty the Queen has been pleased to give directions for the ap-
pointment of Mr. William Browne Johnson, J.P., to be a Member of
the Legislative Council of the Bahama Islands.

NO. 136. His Excellency the Governor has approved the following
appointments:-
Mr. Albert Harris to be a District Constable for Light-
bourne Creek. M.P. 6942.

NO. 137.
Assistant Labour Officer.

Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Labour Officer
on a salary scale of 800-25-900 per annum. The post is Unes-
tablished and the person selected to fill the post will be appointed
on probation for one year.
2. Applications should be forwarded to the Colonial Secretary's
office not later than noon on Saturday the 18th September, 1954.

His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the Right
Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies that Her Majesty
the Queen will not be advised to exercise Her power of disallowance
with respect to the following Acts of the Bahama Islands:-

The subjoined Order in Council made under the Wild Bird Pro-
tection Act (No. 52 of 1952) is published for general information.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
MADE UNDER
THE WILD BIRDS PROTECTION ACT.
(No. 52 of 1952).
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in Coun-
cil by section 4 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, the following
Order is hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as the Wild Birds Protection (Re-
serves) (No. 3) Order 1954.
2. The place described in the Schedule to this Order is hereby
reserved for the protection of wild birds.
SCHEDULE.
ALL THAT tract of land containing 200 acres, more or less,
which is a portion of a larger tract of land known as "Waterloo"
and which is situated on the northern side of West Bay Street at
a point about 13 miles westward of the City of Nassau and about

4.900 feet westward of the junction of the Windsor Field Road with
West Bay Street, which said tract is bounded as follows:-
On the South by that portion of West Bay Street 1,700 feet
long, more or less which commences from a
point about 4,900 feet westward of the junction
of the Windsor Field Road with West Bay Street
and extends thence in a westwardly direction
for 1,700 feet to the junction of West Bay Street
with the Road to Lightbourne Creek.
On the West -- partly by that portion of the said Road to Light-
bourne Creek which commences from West Bay
Street and extends in a northwestwardly direc-
tion to a point 1,330 feet (approximately) distant
from West Bay Street and thence partly by a
line bearing North 52 degrees 45 minutes Wst
for a distance of 400 feet to the High Mark on
the Northern coast of New Providence Islands.
On the East by a line which commences from the above
mentioned point on West Bay Street which is
4,900 feet westward of its junction with the Wind-
sor Field Road and extends thence North 16 de-
grees 55 minutes West for a distance of 2,056
feet to a point on the southern bank of the
channel of Lightbourne Creek.
On the North partly by the High Water Mark on that portion
of the northern coast of New Providence Island
which extends from the mouth of Lightbourne
creek westwardly to the northern extremity of the
western boundary described above, and partly by
that portion of the southern bank of the channel
of Lightbourne Creek which extends from its
mouth in a northeastwardly direction to the
northern extremity of the above described east-
ern boundary.
Ordered in Council this 7th day of September, 1954.

Explanatory Note:
This Order establishes as a reserve for the protection of wild
birds, the place mentioned in the Schedule thereto. Section 4 of the
Wild Birds Protection Act makes it an offence for any person to
enter upon any such reserve with intent to kill or capture wild birds.

son Rolle Pension Act 1954 (No. 13 of 1954 is published for general
information.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
MADE UNDER
THE ISAIAH ROBINSON ROLLE PENSION ACT 1954.
(No. 13 of 1954).
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in Coun-
cil by section 2 of the Isaiah Robinson Rolle Pension Act 1954, the
following Order is hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited eas the Isaiah Robinson Rolle
Pension Order 1954.
2. A pension at the rate of One Hundred and Fifty Pounds
(150 per annum is hereby granted to Isaiah Robinson Rolle as from
the 1st January, 1954.
3. The pension granted by this Order shall be in satisfaction of
and in substitution for any right, title, interest or claim to or in
any pension or gratuity which he now has or may have under any
other act.
Order in Council this 6th day of September, 1954.
