The sub-joined Notice of Possession Given under The Acquisition
of Land Act (Ch. 265) is published for general information.

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
GIVEN UNDER
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
(Ch. 265)
WHEREAS by Notice No. 296 dated the 29th October, 1953, and
published in the Official Gazette dated the 2nd November, 1953, tho
Acting Governor in Council declared that it was his intention to
acquire and the land described in the Schedule hereto.
AND WHEREAS claims for compensation have been lodged by
Lionel George Bethell, Susan Lillian Bethell, Mary Isobel Roberts,
Rachael Runke and Herbert Bowe with the Colonial Secretary for
the said land,
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected land
has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the purpose
mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

SCHEDULE

All that certain tract or parcel of land situate northeastward of
the steps which adjoin the northern and eastern boundaries of loti
No. 176, in the southeastern part of the Settlement of New Plymouth
and in the vicinity of the Board of Education's School House, on
the island of Green Turtle Cay, one of the Abaco range of cays,
Colony of the Bahamas, as outlined within the red border on Plan
No. 35, Abaco, on record in the Crown Lands Office, the boundaries
of which tract commence at the point of intersection of the eastern
boundary line of the right-of-way for the said steps with the north-
ern edge of the Main Public Road to Gillam's Bay, and extend thence

along the northern edge of the said Main Public Road to Gillam's
Bay North 98 degrees 32 Minutes (true) 157.35 feet to a point on
the southern boundary of land said to be in the possession of the
Estate of Roland Roberts, thence through said land in the possession
of the Estate of Roland Roberts North 33 degrees 04 minutes (true)
61.0 feet and North 115 degrees 42 minutes (true) 70.0 feet to a point
on the western boundary of land said to be in the possession of
Harry Pinder, thence along the western boundary of the said land
in the possession of Harry Pinder, which also forms the eastern
boundaries of the said Roland Roberts land and land said to.be in
the possession of Lionel Bethel, North 32 degrees 07 minutes (true)
109.12 feet, thence across the said land in the possession of Lionel
Bethel and across land said to be in the possession of Lilly Bethel
North 301 degrees 37 minutes (true) 135.0 feet to a point on the com-
mon boundary line between said land in the possession of Lilly Bethel
and Crown Land occupied by the Board of Education, thence along
the said common boundary line North 32 degrees 07 minutes (true;
44.65 feet, thence across the said Crown Land North 306 degrees 37
minutes (true) 57.28 feet to the northeastern corner of lot No. 10,
which said lot together with lot No. 5 immediately south of it is in
the possession of the Board of Education, thence along the eastern
boundary lines of the said lot No. 10 and the said lot No. 5, which
also forms the western boundaries of the said Crown Land occupied by
the Board of Education and land in the possession of Herbert Bowe,
North 218 degrees 37 minutes (true) 200.0 feet to the point marking
the Southeastern corner of lot No. 5 and northeastern corner of
the right-of-way for the abovementioned steps, thence along the
eastern boundary line of the right-of-way for the said steps North
212 degrees 16 minutes (true) 90.0 feet back to the point of com-
mencement and containing 39,527 square feet, more or less.

His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the Right
Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies that Her Ma-
jesty the Queen will not be advisde to exercise Her Power of Dis-
allowance with respect to the following Act of the Legislature of the
Bahama Islands:-
