The following Government Notice is published as a supplement
to this Gazette.
NO. 28. The Customs Duties (Poultry Eggs) Revocation Order 1946
(Amendment) Order, 1954 M.P. 1649/2.
With reference to Government Notice No. 26 of the 11th Feb-
ruary, 1954, it is hereby notified that, consequent upon the temporary
absence from New Providence of His Excellency the Governor, on
a visit to Andros, the Honourable A. G. H. Gardner-Brown, M.E.C.,
Colonipl Secretary, is acting as His Excellency's Deputy.
His Excellency the Governor has appointed the following gen-
tlemen to serve on the Town Planning Committee for the year
commencirg on the 1st January, 1954:-

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT
WHEREAS by Notice No. 314 dated the 28th November, 1953,
and published in the Official Gazette dated the 7th December, 1953,

the Acting Governor-in-Council declared that it was his intention
to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto.
AND WHEREAS claims for compensation have been lodged by
Agusta Young, S. O. Miller and H. H. Finlay, J.P., with the Colonial
Secretary for the said land.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected land
has been appropriated by the Governor-in-Council for the purpose
mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date of this notice.

All that tract or parcel of land, comprising a thirty (30) foot
right-of-way for a Road, situated in the vicinity of Bannerman Town
and Little Bay Points on the southwestern coast of the Island of
Eleuthera, Colony of the Bahamas, as outlined on a map, numbered
F54AI3636, which is on record in the Crown Lands Office file No.
1017C Vol. II, and is more particularly described as follows:
The said tract or parcel of Land consists of a strip of land,
thirty (30) feet wide and 1595.7 feet long, extending from the in-
tersection of the two public roads at the southwest corner of Ban-
rerman Town to the northwestern boundary of the Long Range
Proving Ground Submarine Cable Landing Site at Little Bay Point,
which is known as Tract No. EI-403, and the centreline of this said
strip of land thirty (30) feet wide is more fully described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the two public roads at the
southwest corner of Bannerman Town, the centreline of the said
thirty (30) foot right-of-way extends thence South 52 degrees 25'
West, 581.8 feet to a point which is witnessed by two /2 inch steel
reirforcin- rods set in concrete, one which is located North 37 degrees
35' West, 15.0 feet distant and the other South 37 degrees 35' East,
15.0 feet distant from it, thence South 49 degrees 40' West, 915.00
feet to a point witnessed by two 1/2 itch reinforcing rods set in
concrete, one of which is located North 40 degrees 20' West, 15.0
feet distant from it, thence South 36 degrees 33' West, 98.9 feet to a
wooden stake on the north-western boundary of the L.R.P.G. Cable
Landing Si'e at Little Bay Point, Tract No. EI-403, the said stake
being located Ncrth 54 degrees 59' East, 47.8 feet from the centre
of a brass disc set in concrete on the said northwestern boundary
line and also South 54 degrees 59' West, 67.2 feet from a brass disc
fet in concrete which marks the most northerly corner of the said
Submarine Cable Landing tract No. EI-403, and containing 1.1 acres
more or less.
